1999 acura tl radio wont play cd
I have a 1999 Acura 3.2tl. I love the car, but my cd player will not play cds. It takes the cd and then makes a low noise like its trying to read it and then spits it out. These are not burned cds either. These are store bought cds. Any suggestions about whats wrong?? Thanks
I have 2001 TL for myself and mine does that time by time and it really annoys me.
I would like to know the answer for this as well. btw, store bought cds work just fine in mine, just tad bit slower/ or wont work at all with home made burned cd's

First, you might want to used a laser lens cleaning disc to see if that's the problem. The original head unit in my 1999 TL had some problems with original CDs until I used a lens cleaner.
Another option is to replace your current head unit with the 6-CD model that came with the 2002-2003 TL. These have no problems playing burned CDs and it's a Plug n Play replacement.
And, as was mentioned above, you can install an iPod adapter into the back of your current head unit.
I did both of the above and that worked out great. (I used a Blitzsafe adapter.) Of course, once you have an iPod hooked up, you might find that you hardly ever listen to CDs, burned or not.

so 02-03 head unit is in-dash cd changers correct?
it is in dash but they dont take cd-r's..I just pulled out the factory hu cuz i was sick of it. My aftermarket one is amzing! the only thing you lose is the voice to the navi and factory sub..thefactory head unit will only play regular cd's
Unless there's something wrong with it, the in-dash 6-disc head unit from the 2002-2003 TL will absolutely play CD-Rs.
get after market - and you can keep the sub
