Amp mounting
Amp mounting
Hello again guys, I was wondering if its ok to mount my amp on top of my sub box. I was gonna use some heavy duty double sided tape to make sure it sticks pretty good cuz i know if i screw it in then the vibrations from the sub will prolly shake em loose. My sub isnt anything too loud. Its a single 300 RMS 12" infinity sub.
You would be fine screwing it onto the box.
If your box is vibrating, you've got more problems than just some loose screws. Vibration on the enclosure should be minimal, if any at all

If your box is MDF, there's no way you'll shake screws out with that sub. the double sided tape would just be nasty to work with, but if you want to, it's your call... I wouldn't even mess with it, just use the screws...
or you could mount the amp under one of your seats unless its a huge surfboard thing.
personally, i never mount amps to the box because
1. youre screwing holes into your box which is a way for air to escape
2. if you ever need the extra trunk space you cant just remove the sub box and be done with it. youd have to disconnect the amp and put tape on wires and etc etc etc....
