TSX: '09 with Tech: XM to Sirius?
'09 with Tech: XM to Sirius?
Hello all,
I have a 2009 Acura TSX with the Tech Package. I would like to convert the built in XM system to be a Sirius system. Anyone know the best way I can do this?
Want to switch to Sirius b/c I have a life-time account and don't want to buy a XM account on top of that. I called both XM and Sirius and got no help. Basically they said that the companies are technically merged, but the accounts are entirely separate.
Best scenario I can imagine is some way to swap out the brains of the tech package so I can use the factory display and antenna...possible?
Thanks!

DEI makes a piece that works for Honda/Acura. It doesn't list the 09 TSX or even the 08 but I would probably still try it. I've done Ipod adapters that didn't list the 08+ Accord (same wiring as 09 TSX) and it still worked. I haven't pulled the stock TSX unit out yet so I don't know if the XM plug is still the same.. I've done this conversion on a new civic before and it worked pretty good except you did need the seperate antenna. I would probably buy it from somewhere that has a decent retun policy in case it doesnt work......

It could be true, but I wouldn't really know unless I had the radio removed to see if the plugs are the same. And even then, I would just have to test it to make sure everything stays functional. I wouldn't be suprised either way if it worked or didn't worked to be honest...
I found a shop that looked at the components and said they can make the change for about $450. I got some details at the time, but forget the specifics on the exact plan.
I'm thinking about having this done soon, so I'll check on what the details and post again.
