04 TSX - Question about cascade VB-2 related ..

The door panel has a foam piece that's attach to it that resides in the whole on the door frame.

Whats the purpose of that foam piece? Is it to secure the window as it's rolled down from vibrating?

I want to use the VB-2 and cover up the whole door .. but that would mean i have to remove the foam piece.

Enlighten me please!

The one in the hole in the door frame?

It doesn't secure the window, as there's a big barrier between it and the window.

I think that something is designed to fit in that hole and the foam fills the gap (side air bags?)

sorry .. i meant hole. what barrier? are you refering to the plastic film that's covering the whole door? i havent taking that piece off to find out ...

I didnt see any side air bags on the door panel, just a foam piece that fits into that hole ... and isnt the side air bag be on the ceiling or the A pillar?

Yes, it is, so I don't know what it's for. The water barrier is the whitish plastic sheet.

Personally, I would put the VB on the metal of the door, not the door trim panel - but I would cover it in that Cascade foam that's pretty affordable. I think we got rid of a rattle in joerockt's with that foam on the styrofoam bomp, as it was sqeaking on the plastic water barrier.

Can you post some pics about what you're talking about, I might be interested in putting cascade in my car later too, so I would appreciate some pics.

105 for 3 .. 37x 54 inch

The three circle is where you should put a cut to let the wire go through....

what you do is stick the sheets on .. then use a hair dryer or a heat gun (faster) and just make it form to the door frame. you can use the paper that the cascade sticks to as a "roller" to make it form to the frame

well .. mostlikely i'll be going with two of my other friends .. but still dont know if i can get that day off.

Best way to do this is take the picture of the door with the panel off .. that way you can look at the picture to know where the needed holes are at for the plugs and stuff. when you get to the bolt that holds the window frame .. just cut a x on top of the bolt and just mold it down .. it'll break and you'll get a good mold around it.! and if you get air pockets .. just cut an x or just one line over it and it'll all be good!

just holla if you need help!
