Hi, I've done my searching on what size of component speakers to put for my 03 tl, but some say 6.5'' but you need to cut the door or something like that? I was wondering if 5 1/4''s will drop in perfectly without having to cut anything. And any suggestions on pretty decent component speakers ranging from $100-180? Or does anyone have the Infinity perfect 5.1 components and how do they sound?

 

You should be able to install 6.5" with just a lift ring. $180 for a set of components, that's pretty darn cheap.

 

yeah i guess i'm just looking for something like infinity kappas which go for like high 100s or i think 200, which i'd do too. any suggestions for the $200 range?

 

correct, the 5.25" is a perfect drop in fit. A 6.5" won't work without some cutting or possibly a ring. I just recently put in a set of JL Audio's VR525-CSi components in my TL and love the sound.
