hey yall. im sure info on this subject has already been adressed but im pretty lazy . i have quite a few ?s so if any one can answer any of these it would be much appreciated . i used to have a 94 4runner and installing a system in that car was a breeze since i really didnt care if nething got messed up.

but i just bought an 03 cl and i need some help on installing an amp. i looked around for about an hour today on places on where to run 4 gauge wiring from the engine compartment to the interior. this was my 1st problem.

and then after that i was attempting to find ways of gettin the power wire from the interior, once its there, to the trunk. that was problem #2

i really want to try and keep the stock head unit since im on a budget and i already have an 1200W rockford amp and 2 15" QA subs.
i hacked up my runner and tied in the RCA cables the rear right speaker...i didnt notice much distortion or netin AND it worked ...besides lookin liek a piece of crap. so i was wondering if ne1 knew where to tie in the RCA wires AND/OR if it could even be done at all.

and last but not least..the REMOTE wire leading to the amp..i found a bundle of wires underneath the stering column area but i have no clue on which ones are stereo wires or what

i would appreciate ANY help i can get ...THANKS!

 

To answer your power problem. Above the gas pedal is a gromet that you can run the wire through the firewall.

You can tap into the Bose amp, I think, for you connections.

I'm sure someone can expand on this.

 

Just read the sticky at the top of the Audio / Video section and it will guide you on the amp connections.

 

i checked out that grommet above the gas pedal and it looks kinda hard to work with. should i send the wire in from the engine compartment to the interior or the other way round? . and also will this grommet be able to fit 4ga wiring thru it....? thanks!
