Need help from you Audio guru's..... So I decided to install a 15 inch and amp. I hooked everything up the correct way but my amp will not turn on. I have tried 2 amps and the same thing happens. I put a Voltage meter on my power wire, remote wire and ground wire. Everything is good on the power side.. But here is the kicker. I looked all over the car and noticed that no where on the motor do I see where the motor to the car is grounded. My amp wire is bolted to the trunk body area with a 14mm bolt. I dont get any readings when I test the ground from the amp to the body. Am I missing some thing here?

I also ran a ground from the Battery and I blew my fuses in the amp. I then replaced the fuse and grounded the wire to the driver seat bolt next to the arm rest. I still get NO ground. What am I doing wrong here? Im really stumped. i have installed many systems in civic's and integra's and never have had this problem.

 

There are 2 Main grounds:

1: Transmission to Battery Cable.
2: Battery to Chassis.

I would check; Is there a reading between your AMP +12V and Chassis ground? It should be a solid 12v reading anywhere in the chassis with no paint..

The Ground cable should not be longer than 4ft.. Also when installing the AMP, The ground on the battery should be D/C! Make a solid ground for your AMP and THEN reconnect the battery ground..
