LED Fog Lights Installed

So I bought a couple of these -

Lumen® - Acura RDX 2010 Fog Light LED Bulbs

Plasma LED option, white

Ignore all the bug guts on the front...haven't had a chance to give it a good wash yet after my 2200 mile road trip.

Here is the before:

And after:

Side by side - left is LED, right is OEM:

That's just reflection, they appear to be very similar in terms of actual light output. I certainly wouldn't recommend buying the 150 lumen bulbs from the link I posted above. Unfortunately I'm not aware of a way to get only fogs on without the headlights so it's hard get a good comparison.

So in doing some research apparently the H11 bulbs are supposed to be like ~1300 lumens, which is 3 times higher than the rating of the LED bulbs I got...I am certainly not seeing that. Do the fogs run at a lower voltage / amperage or something?

More research - although the CarID website says the bulb is 420 lumens, it also notes that plazma LED generates around 150 lumens per watt, and the bulb runs at 11 watts. That would it it closer to 1250 lumens, which is right on par with where the stock halogens run.

So yeah, maybe someone with more knowledge on this subject can chime in and make things clear. lol

Park 15-20 feet from a wall and then take some photos of the output.

hmm interesting i would think your math is on par for that calculation.. surprised they wouldnt just list them as that lumens though.. most people want 2100lm or above.. i have HID in mine cause i like brighter specially on wet roads at night =)

I'm sure I can do that tonight, but it'll just be for the LED's...don't feel like pulling all those tabs out again just for a light measurement. haha

Right on...if I'm bored on one of these weekends I might get back under there and plug the old bulbs back in for reference then. Maybe on my next oil change.
