I dont want anything bike related, even my avatar. As for getting another bike, I dont think so. I am grounded. I require 4 wheels now for any transportion, 2 is just too dangerous.

While riding a motor cycle is dangerous, you need to see that you made it 10x more dangerous than it needed to be driving the way you did...

Hopefully you'll start to slow down

I know I did after a few things happend to me.

Katana, you are alive. Dude you are lucky and that is absolute great news.

Bad thing is that you learned the hard way.

I hope you get better soon !

I have been riding since I was 7 and have had some eye opening mishaps, but I think it's a very rare when a bike explodes while riding it. With the proper gear you may have not got hurt at all. So don't give up on bikes just yet. Even though I mentioned gear... on a hot day I would wear sandels, shorts and a tank, but if you do it right, it can be pretty safe. Glad to hear you came out pretty good though, because it could have been a lot worse.

dude, now you gotta chill out and enjoy life. You let your bad boy side out by getting a bike and riding it hard. Now that you have had your wake up call, just enjoy everyone and everything that makes you happy. Feel better dude.

Dude, I know how you feel right now.

I spent 23 hours in the ER for a motorcycle accident.

I was confined to a wheelchair for about a month (on top of all the bruises and a torn rotator cup)

It will get better. Just takes time.

Keep your head up Dude.

I had a pretty bad accident on a bike a few years ago and luckily had very minimal injuries. I was heading down a main street where I used to live going the speed limit (45mph) and I see a pickup sitting in the opposite lane waiting to make a left (across my lane). Well he was just sitting there seemingly waiting for me to pass when he takes off right before I get there and cuts in front of me. I had a split second to hit the brakes but Im sure I didnt slow down but maybe 4-5mph (I mostly just locked up the rear), and so I it the box of the pickup square on. It happend right in front of a carwash and a lady there said I flew over the box of the truck and about 25 ft. into the street. I had no helmet on (riding a Harley just across town) and jeans with a light jacket. I blacked out from the moment of impact to when I hit the ground, but I immediately got up and all I could think about was how pissed I was at the guy for making the left right in front of me. Came out with mostly bruises and didnt even go to the hospital - not bad for hitting a truck @40-45mph, flying about 30ft, and landing on bare pavement.

Moral of the story is not everything is in our control, but its how you deal with it afterwards. - I still ride, but now I am much more cautious when it comes to other traffic. I may still get a little crazy on the backroads (especially here where there is very little traffic). Unfortunately not everyone gets as lucky to have the opportunity to learn from these accidents.

Where are these PICS?

OH and sign up for that medical now, the bills are bad already, but you want those follow-up visits to be covered.

As far as lawsuits i wouldn't neccecarily do it, but due to advertising of these bikes going those speeds, you could prob win. Walk into the honda dealer and tell them what happened and you want to talk to their regional manager, they might give you a new bike, which you would promptly sell to pay for medical bills. Especially if it was dealer maintained.

I'd say well, well done. It takes me a minute to get up and do anything. Its like my whole body is just sore and burnt, and I have a real tough time moving. hell, it took me 3 minutes to get off the couch and make it to the computer, and its maybe 7 feet away. I just took some painkillers, and hopefully i ll be knocked out soon.
