That should give you an idea where the park is.... but its a big park so finding exactly where everyone is, is the hard part.

Well we asked for input from people that know of a good route around that area. People have mentioned Azusa, but I don't think anyone has stepped up to take charge in planning the cruise.

To tell you the truth I could care less about the cruise. I enjoy looking at others rides and catching up with friends that I can only see 4 times a year.

I think i have found a place that's great for cruising/group photo. It's in the area of Chino Hills, about 32 miles from El Dorado Park...Here the pic of that place:

OVERVIEW OF THE TRIP

THE HILLS

DESTINATION

The thing i'm not sure about this is that the roads are winding and goes up and down hill a lot, so i'm afraid that our car can't handle that...it's dangerous... If we go with this, i'll suggest you do a full brake check up...

But if the car can handle it, it'll look dope...as you can see, the marked place is pretty isolated and provide great backdrop of the sky/hills...by the look of it, it can handle about 30 cars...

What do you think? If you want to do this, i need someone to help me plan this thing...anyone in OC/Irvine area...

Looks like a nice place but have you been there in person? One thing I concern is that not everyone experience in mountain driving so if the road is not "safe", it would be not wise to drive to the mountain the first time. Azusa canyon drive is not so hard on twist and turn, but don't know if it has parking place for 20 or so cars? i know Angeles Crest has one big parking place on the way up, but it's kind of far especially those guys in San Diego. Maybe I have to do 'test drive" on either Azusa and/or Angeles Crest on one weekend to see what would be the best cruise and photo op can be done at the same time.

I haven't been to that place yet, that's why i need someone to come with me and check it out...it just seem like a nice drive...

There is a danger factor though...

I think it's would be a better idea if there was a cruise similiar to the first one. Perhaps down to PCH and end up at a place by the beach. I'd really volunteer to help plan it, but I'm not familiar with the area at all.

lol! no sh*t!! are you guys sure that were not going to get rushed out of there by the M.P.s? Pch was cool on our nitecruise but a new route and photospot is always good. But whatever gets decided on hopefully El Dorado meet will be for at least a few hours for all of us to hangout .

Is this a 'cruise', or a time assault? If is the latter, count me out.

I'm sure it's nothing like a time attack, just a casual drive through the mountains.

Last Pasadena meet at the Azusa mtn went pretty smooth actually, the lead organizers did a great job at keeping everybody in check. Those who wanna go faster stay up front, those who wanna just chill and hang back stay back. Then just meet up at the dest. place.

I like the Chino Hills idea or the Azusa mtn that we're all familiar with, more of a fun drive than the beach drive that we've done already previously

Is there anybody here living around Chino Hills area who's willing to go survey the place for us?

KC

Is somebody going to volunteer to give me some kind of lead around the PCH area? Geez, this board really doesn't like to help other people out. I'm willing to help plan the cruise out if I just get a few destination points. Like I said, I'm not familiar at all with the area, and honestly, I think the cruise is what makes the meets much more worthwhile. After all, the reason we meet is partially because of our cars...and cars are meant to be driven!!

Well TL_CHROMATIDE, his friend CJ and I went to check out the route today. It's a fun drive, lots of winding road, not too much up-hills, decent inclines... There are some really nice places to take picture but it's too narrow, can't really hold a lot of cars...there are also horse stables...

The thing is we couldn't get to the place that we wanted to go because there was a road block...I'll post up pics later today...

Overall, it's a REALLY fun drive through the hills but if we want to take a group picture, we need to find a place big enough for 30+ cars... I'll use Google Earth...

Did i say that we saw a Viper GTS on our way up there?

I'll post some pics up,
ZZZ

good recon. sounds like you had fun doing it. but i don't think we'll have any oppurtunity for group pics bec of the narrow road and daylight being short this time of year. unless, we leave early enough for the drive and try the park in that area for the photo shoot.
