No need to thank me guys...but you're welcome. So here's what I know. I spoke with someone at that Kmart (and might I add she sounded very cute) and it is on the left side of the road. However, she said there is not much traffic in the area and there is no median (not a divided hwy) so I don't see it being very difficult to make a left into the parking lot and a right back out. I am just providing information here, I'll let you guys make the decision and relay that back to everyone else. It should be a decent spot for everyone to meet just before entering Skyline Dr though.

jmbnova - Sounds good. That's 1 of the official spots to meet then. What time should we all be there and what time should we leave by to be at the Ralley point in Mannassas at noon? Depending on what time you think we should be at your building thing .... that will determine what time the GAP/Barnes N Noble people will meet and leave from there to caravan to your building/house. BTW: Your link doesn't work (at least for me). Wanna type out the address or something?

OK... Heres the deal, to get to the final meeting point by noon, I say we meet at the office complex by my house at 11:15. That way if we are behind a few minutes, we are still ok. It should not take more than 20 minutes to et to the final meeting spot (and thats with bad traffic).

This is 21.36 miles (25 min.) from Tysons Mall in VA. It's a Wal Mart right off I-66. We will meet in the parking lot of Wal-Mart at the farthest parking spaces from the store.

Leaving The Parking Lot And Heading Off To Skyline: 1:30 PM SHARP

This will be the "meet and greet" part of the entire meet. Then we'll have the drive to the K-mart (which is right outside of Skyline Drive) to gather everyone up one last time before we enter Skyline.

What the heck! I didn't even think about that one ... I hope this doesn't turn people away from wanting to do the cruise ... that sucks!

Maybe I should take everyone's $15 and be the 1st car to enter and then that way we all can just drive straight through the gates or whatever they have?

Also, everyone make sure to have a full tank of gas!!!

haha. Don't worry about that. We have a few members that know where I live. Also, I have a 1 credit card that I could buy 2 superchargers with ... so I don't think $750 would be enough to go to jail for, lol.

FINALLY!

A MEETING POINT 10 MINS FROM THE HOUSE.

Just a brief FYI.

This wal mart has basically two entrances into the parking lot. And its EXTREMELY busy (what wal mart isnt).

The light we will need to get through on 234 will be pretty short for us and extremely long for those who WILL get stopped by it. That area of 234 is also very busy with traffic that time of day. We will also need to yield to oncoming traffic on balls-ford road when leaving the lot.

I doubt all these cars will make it through one, even TWO, mabye three cycles of the light. Once you are throught the light and heading north on 234, you need to make a LEFT hand turn (which does not have a light) to get on 66. This will cause many of us to have to yield to cars coming down 234 south.

This could be a logistical nightmare leaving the place and make it very difficult to keep us together, so i'll just throw this out there.

We may want to consider the shopping center that the Hoyts movie theater is in, which is about 2 minutes from the wall mart on the NORTH side of 66. Ive seen EVO's and STI's meet here.

I also think that JDM5LUGHATCH (chris) did a skyline drive cruise with another forum and this is where they met.

There is PLENTY of space, and when you leave the shopping center there is only 1 light where we will be making a right hand turn.

IF YOU STAY IN THE RIGHT LANE LEAVING THE SHOPPING CENTER YOU ARE ALREADY IN THE LANE TO GET ON 66 HEADING TOWARDS SKYLINE. In fact, when I leave there sometimes I have to hurry and get over before I accidentally get ON 66.

We could maintain 1 continuous line of cars while leaving this area much easier than the Wal-mart.

Leaving the wal mart will be as follows:

1. right out of parking lot (yielding to oncoming traffic - alot of oncoming traffic).
2. through light number 1
3. through light number 2 (route 234 - very long).
4. north on 234
5. left to on ramp onto 66 (no light).

leaving the theater parking lot will be.

1. Right out of parking lot (234 south).
2. immediately get onto 66 ramp for 66 west.

I don't think the name of the shopping center is "hoyts". Thats just the name of the theater IN the shopping center.

Getting there is simple.

66 west to 234 business north, first left on bullock drive...simple.
That also let you know how easy it is to get out.


I have seen meets there before. Typically they seem to gather in the parking lot across from the old navy store.

Nick - I say we swap it to the new center... We still have a month before the drive so it seems like there is time for everyone to get the word that the spot changed... That's my vote anyway...
