Are we just going to take the 101 the whole way up to Pismo?

Just curious because I sometimes feel car sick on windy roads. So I want to prepare myself mentally for it

Yes, we will take the 101 all the way up.

For SoCal Caravan:
Like last year, we will probably stop at Gaviota Northbound rest stop (only rest area on the way up) for restroom and stretching. Here is the location on the map:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...50683&t=h&z=15
It's about 101miles starting at the 818 Caravan location. So everyone keep this location in mind and stop there if you need to go to restroom and stuffs.

hey TYPESDRAGON. since you mentioned the sharing situation,do u think it would be fair to ask who will/wont be sharing so we know where we sit with certain food items?

i will be bringing a nice pack of those farmer john spicy sausages so i think theres like 10+ in the package but im not sure of the ammount. anyway, anyone is more than welcome to the extras.

and is anyone planning on caravaning back towards the OC at the same time or does everyone just kind of plan on fizzling out little by little as we decide to leave?

I am bringing 3 cases of water. But I can bring just 2 and some cash instead if that would help out more.

seeing that food list, everyone bringing something should see how many other people are bringing it, and bring what would satisfy the (total count / how many ppl are bringing item) for the meet.

for instance:

5 people bring hot dogs, to satisfy 100 ppl. Each person should bring 20 or so.

then again ppl who are bringing patties, sausages, or dogs should be responsible for bringing buns too lol. otherwise we end up having a shortage of buns FTFail.

last meet we had to run back to the store.

I'll know on the day of our meet as to if i'm going to go to the OC or head back to the 626.. But most likely we will have a pretty big group of people caravanning back to socal at the same time... we can then start splitting up... a few of us are going back to the 626, others to Irvine and OC, then guys down at SD

We are cooking everything up before serving I hope? If that's the case we need to bring some trays for the cooked food. If you are bringing meats, you should also bring a foil tray and also aluminum foil big enough to hold the meats you are bringing.

How big is the BBQ grill at the park anyways? I hope it's big enough to cook most of food at one time. We need volunteers for the BBQ that know what they are doing (how long to cook the meats). We don't want to be eating burnt or undercooked meats do we?

With that said, I would like to volunteer since I manned the bbq many of times. Who else has expertise with the grill? We need at least 4-5??

I need to go to Costco. I need to buy the patties/buns, but I dont have a Costco card. I may need to grab it from my brother....I can bring a portable grill (if I can buy it today or tomorrow) for my patties, but someone need to cook them.I dont know how many patties it can handle, but I'm guessing only 4-6.

Obviously we cant cook food for everyone in one grill. I added people who will be bringing portable grill. I will add myself when I buy the grill. We dont need 5 grill, but hopefully we can like 3 more.

No need to spend more money on a portable grill, unless you need it for future use.
Use that money to buy your walkie talkie or more hotdogs/buns.

Let's just find out how big the BBQ grill at the park is first. I heard someone said it was fairly big. We'll just cook everything first and eat when its all done. I know I won't be cooking again once its time to eat.
