Hey AcuraZine. New 2013 2.0 5AT ILX owner here.

I bought my car with only 25k miles on it last fall and it now has close to 37k. I noticed that when it shifts into overdrive for the first time when warming up, it shudders a bit and occasionally will shift rougher than I think it should when warm. Even though it's still under powertrain warranty, my local Acura dealer likes to jerk people around so before I take it to them, I'm going to replace the transmission fluid with Acura ATF DW-1.

I've heard conflicting intervals on when to change it. The dealer says to only do it when the MM says to - over on the Civic forums (our 5AT is the same as theirs, correct?), they swear by every 30k. So considering mine is relatively low miles for the year and it was a lease car, it's probably original with the car and broken down by a lot in 5 years so I don't think it would hurt to change it with fresh fluid either way.

I bought 8 quarts so I can do the "3x3" change. Does the 5AT have a transmission fluid filter I should change while I'm in there? I've done some searching on here, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of ILX-specific information.

TL;DR:
-Car has 37k on it, not sure if/when the fluid has been changed
-Car shudders once in overdrive for the first time, otherwise shifts okay most of the time
-Does the 5AT have a filter I should do anything with while I'm changing the fluid?
-Is the every 30k change a good rule of thumb for the ILX 5AT?

better to buy a case on ebay - its around 85 shipped.
it will drain close to 3 quarts each time, so you will likely need 9 quarts total.
