Side mirrors and Reverse

I thought I read somewhere that when you put the car in reverse the side mirrors point lower to help with backing up? Is this something that needs to be turned on? Is it on the Aspec or just the Advance model along with the folding mirrors? Thought I’d ask on here before I go digging around in the settings or owners manual.

Well I went ahead and read the manual and figured it out. Surprisingly you can’t enable both mirrors at the same time, only one or the other?

Yep, it will only lower the mirror that the side mirror switch is pointed at. If the switch is in the middle, neither mirror will move downward.

Yes. This is what I found out and experienced.

Same with the Audis.

I think they want to leave one mirror "normal" so you don't misinterpret what you are seeing? Maybe ?

I'll also add ... with Parking Sensors, (high-res) Backup-Cams, and (especially) Top-Down Surround-Views cams ... I hardly use the mirrors when backing-up any more.

Gotta park close to the curbs (to give the idiots plenty of room), but whatever you do, don't get so close that you scratch the rims.

I actually don’t use this feature at all because most of my backing is in my garage or a parking lot. Back up camera is what I use most.

Anyone notice when backing out of a garage at night that the camera is not properly switched to night vision? I can't see a darn thing until the car is completely out of my garage, then it switches to night mode and I can see.

Seems strange.

Setting somewhere?

Someone was having a similar issue with their 3G RDX, except it was all the time the night vision wasn't activating. I don't know if he ever got it resolved.

Be sure the whole camera is clean. Use a very soft rag (like 100% cotton). Also, all other cams and windows (not sure where light sensor is).

Are you sure the (clear/white) backup lights are working properly?
