Intermittent Key Failure?

Anyone else having issues where their key just occasionally doesn't want to work?

Has happened twice in the last 2 weeks now, and happened maybe a handful of times total in the year before that.

Walk out, hit the unlock button, nothing. Works again after a few minutes though you have to walk away from the car to do it. This morning I just pulled the physical key out of the fob and got in that way.

Doesn't feel like it would behave this way if the battery were going, though I guess if it gets more frequent that may be it.

Did you try replacing the battery in the key?

I've had this issue as well. I take out the physical key to get in and then it starts working again. Has happened at least 3-4 times in the last 2 months or so.

might be your cell phone

2021 TLX here. Car seems confused when my cell phone is in the same pants pocket as the key fob. Keep them separate, that might solve your problem.

Hi All - I had this intermittent issue also and I figured out I cannot keep my iPhone and key in same pocket. Somehow phone interferes with key signal when I touch the handle to lock/unlock door. Since moving key to other pocket, key works 100%.

Mine usually goes FUBAR only when it is extremely humid, and cool out. I think too much cool moisture in the air can interfere with the touch sensors in the door handles.
