Brakes constantly squeak

Hey guys anyone have a constant brake squeak in morning and after finishing a 8-10 hour work shift. Mine squeaks everything morning and everytime I leave from work. It does go away after several minutes but come on have 91 civic si where brakes never squeak and also had 2017 subaru wrx where brakes rarely squeaked as well. It's embarrassing 😳 to be honest.

Does it get worse if the car is parked outside in the cold ?

I have the same issue. In the morning, the brakes squeak a few times and then it is gone. I bet it has sth to do with low temperatures.

21 Aspec

I’m at the dealership right now due to this issue. My service advisor told she had her brakes, rotors and pads replaced with 200 miles on the vehicle. I’ll update everyone when they get done with the inspection.

of course they couldn’t replicate the issue so I have to bring it back for an overnight so they can test it first thing in the morning. Apparently there’s no sign of wear even it sounds terrible when it’s cold.

The dealership stated they were told by Corporate not to attempt to fix the issue. There is an open investigation to root cause. Not sure if that’s bs or not so far this dealership hasn’t given me a reason not to trust them.

Same issue here - 21' Aspec. I will address this at my next service visit with Acura. It is annoying, but it goes away fairly quickly.

That is correct. It's a slow process too. They can replace the pads/rotors now but it's just going to come back then you'll be even more unhappy.

Update: Corporate has no fix and is not going to attempt to fix the issue. Both Corporate and Dealer stated the "high performance" brakes hold moisture and since it's not a safety concern no fix is necessary. I'm going to need them to take it easy on throwing that "high performance" around so willy nilly. That F1 championship does not translate to my TLX.

I have not spoken with corporate directly this is all through the dealership.

Now the question is; can I live with that response and listen to the squeal every morning or every time I drive my car and it's cold out. **Edit: The squeal clears quickly and is usually not present after 1/4 to 1/2 mile, the colder out the longer it's present.

Tsb doesnt apply to type S but i have the same issue. Its a small annoyance but certainly worth a fix once they have them for my car too. Interesting to note that once you remove them they are garbage.

I'm having them change my pads to the updated ones when my rotors come in. They're on national backorder still last I was told

Besides the occasional squeak, after a Car wash, the brakes BANG, for like 15 minutes
Kind of weird; having it checked out tomorrow

Had a similar issue on the previous MDX so lubrication could be the common link.

Type S does it too. Better then a coffee to wake you up in the morning. Hit the brakes twice and its gone but annoying hearing it even if its just once a week

Having a slightly different brake squeal issue, wondering if anyone else has had this.

When I park the car and get out I can hear a loud brake squeal with no foot on the pedal. Doesn't matter if I set the parking brake or not. Drive time or temperature do not seem to matter and it makes the noise about 80% of the time.

This is on a 2022 A spec.

2021 Type S here. I don't have any cold/low speed squeak.
But I do have something when I set the parking brake and get out of the car( and only when I set the parking brake). I'm larger, around 250lbs. When I get out the weight shifting does cause it. The fact that I only hear it when parking brake engaged and only from the rear wheels should help narrow it down.

Anyone have any luck after Acura implements the TSB to remove the brake noise? I am thinking of taking my car in to have it fixed. They do the TSB for free right?

Yes, but they will put old pads back on and it will be back to making noise and they won't put more money into it. I'd advise you have a new set on hand. They won't install aftermarket as part of the TSB also. So you'll have new rotors and old pads until you change them yourself.

Brought in my 2021; (at that time)TLX/ASPEC
Have since upgraded to a 2023
The dealership REPLACED the pads for FREE
Show your dealer the TSB, & they should do the same
