Hello all: I just drove for an hour on the highway and when I got out of my car I could smell smoke--it was the driver side's rear brakes. I just changed the brake pads 3000 kms ago and have never had smoking brakes before. Has anyone else had overheated brakes before?

 

Brakes too tight? Dragging?

 

I don't know that much about cars--I spent a $1000 on brakes and have to call the mechanic tommorrow and was hoping to hear from the RDX people because I think they know best. This info is very useful--thanks.

 

sticky emergency brake? did you engage it before that drive?

 

For $1000 they better get it right.

 

I ended up having to change a brake caliper (another $300) which seized.

 

Didn't the shop change out the caliper? For that price you should have new ones with a warranty.
