How long does the initial brake squeal last? Are these Brembo linings?

I only have ~ 2500 miles on mine but they haven't squealed at all yet.

Don't think that these are Brembo linings though they look similar. Initial squeal only continues to get worse. They have a TSB which I had applied and eliminated the squeal. Unfortunately, after a couple of months the squeal is starting to return though not a loud and only the initial few applications of the brakes.

We have 8000 miles on ours and we've had the TSB performed and they're still squealing. Not as bad as before the TSB, but still very present.

when you say squeal do you mean squealing all the time or just during the first few applications of the brakes?

The brakes squeal when coming to a stop. From approximately 10mph to 0 when braking normally. If the steering wheel is cocked one direction or the other and I brake (think parallel parking), the squealing gets very, very loud.

yeah mine started this week - chalked it up to cold/dampness. REAL loud first 2 applications then goes away.

TSB Squeaky Brakes

Yup - my sales man just called to tell me about a TSB for this problem today, but I didn't get a reference number. Anybody know what the fix is/have a copy of the TSB info?

Brakes

The brake squeal actually is heard loudest under 15-20 mph. Interestingly, it seems to occur with brake pedal pressure on or off. Browsing around the internet this seems to be an experience associated with sonic waves emanating not only from closing pressure of pad on the disc, but by a certain high pitched turbulence when there is no contact, much like a whistle when you pucker your lips and blow.

Break Sqeal TSB

I don't have the TSB #, but I had it performed in Lss Vegas as I was have my door handle lock/unlock problem fixed. It was while I was making my appointment that I mentioned that I had a rattle that was coming from the front of the car. The service writer said that a TSB had been issued and that it also took car of the break squal as well. The part(s) in question are break caliper clamps that bridge the pads. Since I had the work performed, I have had no sqeals or rattles.
