Acuralink - Remote Start Issues
Acuralink - Remote Start Issues
I didn't originally renew the Acuralink Remote package. After the pandemic, I was WFH 4 days a week and it just wasn't worth it. I renewed it this summer as it's just been so hot and whenever you're out somewhere, it's nice to get the AC going (theoretically) before you get to you car.
I renewed the Acuralink subscription a month ago. I tested the remote start function, and it didn't work (Remote Operation Failed). I tried it a few more times with no luck. The other remote functions worked - the start function was the only one that didn't. I contacted Acuralink support. The opened a ticket and a few days later said they issued an update and it should work. It didn't. They said they'd get back to work on it. I got a call from a tech who told me I needed to use the remote unlock first and then it would work. No dice. Another week goes by and they say they fixed and it would at least get the 'sending remote command to the vehicle' and then say 'vehicle is out of range to start'. (Tried it standing in front of it at home, work, Target.)
I haven't heard anything from them in 10 days except an automated 'we are still working on your issue.'
I don't get how my daughter's Hyundai has zero issue with remote start via an app and for Acura this is a problem that's taking weeks to fix....

Interesting thread at AcuraLink issues
It turned out to be an entirely different issue. They had me bring it in to replace a telamatics unit. When the service advisor the initial inspection, he noticed the manual lock on the driver door didn’t look right. Turned out it was damaged where some tried to put a jimmy in it trying to break in.
They fixed that and replaced the telematics unit. But felt the issue may have been the damaged lock may have confused the Acuralink app about the lock status of the car.
