Turbo Blanket?
When this video was posted on YT back in early 2018, it was pretty irrelevant to all things TLX related. With the 2G TLX, not so much. Good info though:

and..THEN I closed the hood and felt the hood over the area of the TC. Wow...couldn't hold your hand on it!! Despite the "blanket" from the factory attached to the underside of the
hood...you still could not keep your hand on that area. I showed this to the GM, the Serv. Director and New Car Mgr. who were all standing out with me, since I'm well known there
and a long time customer. They all stopped and turned and looked at each other with their eyebrows raised...after they did a "quick touch" of the outer hood. YES..it's damn not!!!
My question/comment would be: Wouldn't the thermal blanket over the turbine side of the TC help the under hood temps, AND reduce the surface temp of the outer hood directly above
the area where the TC is mounted?? I would make an educated guess as...YES!
I wonder, over time, will the paint be affected by the extreme heat the hood is subjected to?? Again, I do know this...without a thermal temp reading....you CANNOT hold your finger on that
outer hood area long AT ALL. A Quick touch is all you get. It WILL burn you if left in place. To me, that is not acceptable. I have worked with and around turbos in industrial equipment and my
past owned Supra Turbo. The Supra was pretty cool under the hood.
The TLX turbo is fairly close to the top area of the engine bay and hood. That obviously adds to the problem....blankets from the factory or not.
