Did it seem like the speedo was off a bit? When he was back on city streets it looked like he was doing 90 but traffic around him seemed to be moving not too much slower than him.

That IS in Km/hr... I was taken aback when I first saw it... looked like a dragster... the way it pulled. I have made a 10s pass in a Turbo Civic and it didn't pull like that. Nevertheless... that thing looks like it goes from 60mph to 120mph in a few seconds - freaking ridiculous. That speedometer looks faster than my tach!

why would the speedo only go to 200 kph. that is only 124 MPH

Keep in mind this bike has 1 HP for every 1.5 lbs or so. with very little drag.

nope, that speedo is calibrated in mph for the good ol' usa. (the big numbers on the speedo are mph, the little numbers inside the circle are kmph.)

gotta love the braced and extended swingarm and the fact that the bike has no exhaust can. (the turbo muffles the exhaust so it doesn't need one.)

notice how careful he is to stay out of the boost mid-corner, though...

hell, mr. turbo sells a bolt-on street kit for the 'busa - $3995. (it won't be as insane as the setup (next level racing?) on the video bike, but it'll still scare the crap out of most folks...)

the stock swingarm could be extended and braced for a few hundred bucks.

and a brand new 2003 'busa runs just under $11,000.

the hardest part would be riding the damn thing. :P

18 PSI..... so that like doubling the stock HP which is more than 175 HP.... so we are looking at 350 HP Bike!!!

Make no assumptions...that IS in MPH. Do a search for "Turbo Hayabusa" and it should prove it.

Here's an interesting quote I found...

"A short while ago a turbocharged Hayabusa, installed with appropriate gearing and with turbocharging pressure set to maximum so to obtain a power in the region of 400 bhp, has attacked the mile base land speed records, with six certified record runs at over 225 MPH and a best run at 234.375 MPH, equals to 377.191 KMH. It should be noted that these results will soon be bettered as they were obtained in the absence of a boost pressure regulator, the rear tyre still smoking when changing gear from 5th to 6th!"

Also...do the math. Top speed in that video reached a little over 180. If that was in KPH, then that would be only around 120 MPH.

that is DEFINATELY mph. Wow....it just keeps pulling....

This is part of the reason it is hard for me to truly excited about making a car fast.....a bike is always faster.

makes me wanna take mine outta storage

The Speedometer is actually MPH and its reading true. He has a yellow box installed which is used to calibrate the odometer (Hayabusa are about 5% optimistic onthe speedometer). This is a 2003 model with a NLR turbo system.

NLR actually as a Hayabusa with over 500 HP!!! You can burn rubber while doing 130 MPH.

GUY this is no BS! SuperKaos has run several turboed Hayabusas since I have Known about him. He usually posts videos of his many excursions but this video has received a lot of attention.

NLR has been very keen on developing top shelf turbo kits for the Hayabusa and is regarded as the best setup.

I'm still contemplating whether to put a turbo on my Hayabusa.

Speedo
I stand corrected. With a closer look, it IS in MPH. But... I think the gearing in the bike has been changed or something because cars are driving a tad too fast in the city-part towards the end.

Nevertheless... it takes nothing from the fact that this bike is ridiculously quick!

Fixed it for you.

Also that is either kph or a rigged speedo. His reads 60-90mph in 35mph traffic and the way it accels and decels is not correct for a proper-reading mph guage. Still fast as shit though.

It's MPH, and yes it could be that fast. Notice how fast he came up on cars. A bike that fast will pull hard, esp when it spools
up for boost. He could not even open it up to get much
boost PSI in that traffic.

But there is a chance he might of had a smaller cable gear to alter mph just for the video.

No, I'm talking about when he's going the same speed as the cars just after a traffic light, which are going around 30-50mph at the most, but his speedo reads 60-90mph.

Probably a rigged cable.
