Hey guys - have a 22 A spec TLX with about 4K miles and considering getting the ktuner V2 with stage 3 loaded from phearable. I have never tuned a car before - coming from a '13 TL that i drove for 205K miles. The goal is to keep this TLX for 100K miles plus as well. I don't drive very aggressive, but am looking for a little more oomph when I floor it every now and then. I am in California and only have access to 91 octane. Will tuning the car significantly risk the reliability of the car? Plan on keeping everything else stock. Again, not planning on pushing the engine too hard just want a little more burst. I'm good with staying up to date on maintenences (oil changes, etc.). Anything else I need to be aware of other than potential warranty issues? The plan is to flash it with stage 3 and forget it. Don't really plan on keeping the ktuner plugged in after its flashed.

 

you'll be fine. Don't overthink it

 

i ran phearable stage 3 on my accord 2.0t for 15k miles with no issues at all. i'm sure i could get 100k + mileage with no issues.

 

Ran my rdx with ktuner and a custom 32 psi Derek tune
with methanol injection-had to be at 450 horsepower or so
78000 miles on it when I traded it in and still had no issues-

I've had my 2010 RDX aggressively tuned for over 5 years now, ran the car HARD, the car is at 160K miles, and the engine is still running great.

Put Ktuner Stage 1 on my Type-S without even thinking.

 

Just don't be irresponsible...I have 2 modded Acura's and am pretty light on them. Just knowing 'it's there' is good enough Get on it all the time, hard enough and you'll shred the trannies....so be cool and just enjoy some 30-50 sprints here and there
