Burger Tuning JB4 quick take

So I put the JB4 on my 23 TLX Type S a few weeks ago as it's the only option currently, and sadly. I run a mid tune, 3.5psi boost? And the power is pretty decent, but it's quirky on the upper end. Just bucks a bit, hung a shift once...nothing like the K Tuner stuff I use and have used in the past. Btw, also running a PRL Intercooler and intake....

Hopefully the K tuner kit for the 23's will be available when Acura sends update info....and SOON! Sooo much more stable and, well, just better. Shout out to Innovative Motorworks in PA...Derek hooked up with a new Flash for my RDX and HOLY CRAP it's nice!! Not that's the way it SHOULD work!

Issue with Burger? Too many brands. Sometime you need to focus on ONE thing til it's right, then consider moving on. Too many applications muddies the waters for all, or some depending on your focus cars.

Anyway...buyer beware....to some extent.

The “hang up” on the JB4 is a known issue, although I did also read you can experience this with the KTuner and may need to run certain calibrations to avoid this. There’s nothing available yet that gives full access to tuning yet. Myself like everyone has their fingers crossed.

Terry Burger got back to me today and I did some adjustments to the fuel which seemed to help.

i think ive noticed issues on sport mode nothing on sport+ for now. I'm running Map 3. FW downpipe, secondary delete, boost actuated exhaust cutout, HPS intake. Just sent out a brand new stock TB to get bored and cleaned up and I have a new IM but trying to find a CNC shop for porting in my area.

Did you adjust the fuel bias values? If so, what values did you go with? I’ve tinkered with them and it seems like it helps but the hang-up from the 2nd to 3rd gear still happens periodically.

Mine also does the “hang up”
im pretty sure it’s the transmission not being able to shift quick enough- so the engine actually hits the rev limiter and shuts down till the trans can make the shift-if you look at the logs you can see the rpm’s are up around 6200 or so and the fuel/ ignition gets cut till shift is complete

So the JB4 is out!! I was moving the cars around the driveway this morning with no issues just doing some cleaning and when I went to start it the last time to pull it in the garage it was running horribly, and every light started coming on… Engine light, emissions, breaking system, etc.

So shut the car off and turn it down a few times and then decided to just pull the unit altogether. Still getting an emissions light, but seems to be running better?

enough of that.

Completely different. That's for an overboost which causes a fuel cut, since the boost control on these is pretty loose and varies from vehicle to vehicle. JB4 shouldn't ever see that type of cut since the ECU doesn't see the real boost level, as the JB4 alters the sensor voltages to report less than it's actually getting.
