Wireless Charging Placement
I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I can't seem to get the placement of the phone on the pad right for it to charge. I think I got it to work once, but there's some space on all sides so if it moves around, the charging stops. Has anyone else figured out the best way to use the wireless charger or is it just trash?

Unfortunately the difficulty of charging iPhones wirelessly in the TLX is a known issue on this site. There are other threads on here regarding all the issues with iPhones. Android products seem to fair better. I have a Galaxy S22+ that only stops charging if it gets displaced during spirited driving, but its ability to obtain charging is pretty good in most places on the charging pad.

Yeah, the wireless charging pad doesn't work well! I have an iPhone 14 Pro, and it's almost impossible to get it to actually work on my 23' Type S. I gave up on it a couple of days after acquiring the vehicle, and have since just resorted to letting it charge via lightning cable when I am using Apple Car Play. I ended up turning the charging pad off, and now I use it for other purposes.

Man I was really hoping to have wireless CarPlay and the charging pad, but oh well. The charging pad, when it works, barely charges too. I have it turned off now and just charge with the cable.

Fortunately, in my opinion, the ergonomics of the placement of the pad is absolutely brilliant. Kudos to the designers on that. With the USB cable poking out from under the armrest, I just plug my phone in and set it on the pad and I'm all set. It's dimly bothersome that the charger probably won't work if I tried to use it, but with the cable completely out of sight when plugged in - it's a visually appealing set up, and easy to pretend that my car is generating the cool google earth view on my dashboard, and not my phone! I absolutely hate when the USB ports are situated in such a way that it's almost impossible to hide the cable. I'm looking at YOU, Lexus ES!

About the only thing I would worry about is using a USB-A to USB-C cable instead of the legacy Lightning connection since CP is still wired.

I was thinking about this today and I had some slight hope things changed. Granted, I didn’t have much hope so I’m not disappointed. I’ll likely be hanging onto my 13 Pro for another year anyway.

This may sound backwards (and I am getting older), but I prefer charging with a cable in the current Acura set up. Since my 2022 TLX doesn't provide wireless carplay, plugging in the phone and turning it upside down in the charging area works just fine.
I find in our 2023 MDX with wireless carplay, placing the phone in the charging position charges occasionally, but I consistently find myself (or my wife) accidentally touching the screen, skipping a song, changing something inadvertently, etc. Much happier plugging in and turning the phone upside down so that we can't access the screen.
I'm sure there is something that could be done to disable the iPhone 15 screen, but not worth the effort. Also, the Lightning to USB-C apple adapter is clunky, but works. Just my $0.02.

I have the iPhone 15 Pro with a magsafe case on and it charges on the wireless charger pad fine! I haven’t tried to see if the phone charges without the magsafe case on but I would think so… I have a ‘21Aspec SH-AWD.

There’s this magsafe charging pad that you place on top of the oem one. It’s magnetic so it’s always latched and worry free.

Try phone backwards?
Just figured out my Samsung Galaxy Ultra has a much more constant wireless charging experience if I place the phone backwards, with the selfie camera side facing towards the back of the car
When it's aligned the other normal way, the wireless charger icon keeps flickering as it doesn't consistently see the phone is placed on the mat.
