Best mobile browser?

My wife has an LG Xenon that has a crappy browser. It supports full sites like rockband.com but if I want to go to espn.com I can't see the regular site, just the mobile one. I know with the iPhone you can. Is there any other Cingular/ATT or unlocked GSM phone that supports a good browser. Maybe another phone that takes Safari?

Browser's are more software based than phone based. If you can't get a iPhone look into windows mobile and blackberry. There are comparisons on the internet. Try this:

Of these browsers, rate them. Factors include: loading time, actual content that loads, zooming, getting around the page (scrolling, side to side).

Anything that is webkit based like safari/chrome, is going to be pretty zippy and provide a good rendering experience for the device its on. I prefer the flexibility of opera mobile beta with turbo. With opera mobile beta you can turn turbo on which loads the pages from operas servers at blazing speeds. but when you need to visit your banking you can switch turbo off and have the browser render the page in the device.

Trying to keep the bill down since my wife has a data plan (non-PDA). However if the data plan costs as much as the iPhone plan then I'll seriously consider it. I also want to see how the other browsers are doing.

Take it from me I've had safari crash on me more times than anyone on here....but that was with iPhone OS 2.2 and earlier. Ever since 2.2.1 and even 3.0 it's been pretty damn near rock solid. If you look back through the iPhone thread you'll see me complaining over and over again about how safari sucked a big one but that all changed with 2.2.1. I've yet to update to 3.1 (for fear of losing my tethering hack) but on 3.0 other than the system being a little slower overall compared to 2.2.1 everything's been great..... I mean good (the keyboard's been fuckin up on me when I need it the most).
