This is almost comical to me. I'm finally open to parting with my 07 TL-S, and cannot find a single 2024 Type-S anywhere near me. I'm going to reach out to two dealerships in my area later this morning, but I have a feeling that I'll be told they have no idea when they'll get any, if ever. Even the used 2023s are a hike from me (50+ miles).

Yeah this is actually making current TLX Type-S market price hold abit because the 2024s are non existent almost lol. few 2023s that are new, a couple used ones in my area though. A Blue 2023 TLX-S at Radley Acura, White 2023 TLX Type-S at Rosenthal Acura, and that's it from what I see in my area.

I stumbled upon a 2024 within an hour of me this morning, and am waiting for their internet sales department to get back to me. I'm tentatively scheduled to go look at it at 2pm, but really want to make sure that there is no absurd markup before I make the drive. Honestly, I'll be a bit devastated if I don't like how the car feels. My 07 is just so comfortable inside to me.

Coming from an '15 TLX and an '05 TL before that, the 2G TLX is very different, ergonomically. The dash and windshield feel much further away than its predecessors, making me wonder how moving back to a touchscreen would work. The front end feels like it's 10 ft long, so it's hard to judge distance parking.

That said, the car looks awesomely aggressive. Hope it works out!

This. Switching from my Honda daily to my TLX-S after awhile showed me just how big or rather how long the front-end of the Type-S feels. But I never can stop looking back at it when I park it. But these days I drive my Honda way more than my S

My 07 is cozy inside also, but make no mistake, your wrists will not miss driving the heavy front end steering wheel lol.

Yeah, gotta watch out for those parking curbs with that long front end. After a few weeks, it became a non issue for me.

Took longer than I had hoped, but I traded in my 07 TL-S for the 2024 Type-S. It was hard to part with it, and I almost kept it. This one had a number of upgrades, but I got it for the sticker price, no market fee or any of that nonsense.

So far, I’m loving how the car feels and drives.

Aweaome, and welcome to the club. There is literally no reason for market adjustments. Did the dealer have 2023s still on the lot?

No reason for it, yet two other dealers within 3 hours of me had $3k+ markups on their 2024s. They had no other TLX Type-S's on the lot, but had numerous Integra Type-S's. Said they were having trouble selling them due to the pricing, and being so close to the TLX, people were willing to wait for the TLX instead. This was the closest dealer to me that had a new Type-S on the lot regardless of year. They just seem to be non-existent where I live, and this was the first one I had ever seen in person.

Congrats! That blue is so sharp, I'm sure @KrylonBlue will be descending onto this thread soon, he can just sense when there's a Blue Type-S posted up hahaha

Enjoy the power, handling and amazing road presence that TLX brings. Expect to get lots of compliments on it too!

My first Acura was a 2005 blue TL. If I get another TLX, I'll go back to that color...

As cars have gotten even more monochrome (with an occasional red or maroon thrown in) it splashes more than ever.

How much did they give you on trade for the '07 TL-S? I probably would have kept it as a daily or sold on my own.

$5k, which I only accepted as a matter of convenience. I probably could have gotten $8k for it privately despite the tear in the front seat and newly cracked dash, but the dealership being so far away factored into that decision. Comically enough, the sales guy subsequently bought the car for his kid going off to college.

I didn't buy the 2024 for it to not be my daily driver, so keeping the 07 for that purpose would have never happened. Plus, I saw no point in keeping the car insured and registered to sit at the curb.

I wasn't sure if I'd like it at first, but in person it looks great. All of the older Apex Blue Pearl Type-S's that I have seen had those red and black seats, which may be some of the ugliest seats I have ever seen, personally, so I was more than thrilled that wasn't the case with mine.

When I was trying to get a '21 or '22 my order of color combos was: blue/red, blue/orchid, white/red and gray/red. Ended up with white over red, and really do like the color combo. No way I wanted black interior. I was offered a black/black (as 3rd or 4th on the list) about 6 months before I got mine, just no. After that i ended up 1st on the list, because the next car they got was mine. This was during the supply chain issues.

Black/black looks absurdly good when clean, but I would never consider it for a number of reasons.

Funnily enough the Type-S was my first car to have black interior, all my other cars had Graystone, Red, and Ivory Tan interior.

Black looks good with a Red Exterior color like Performance Red Pearl. With red interior? That would have been too much red haha. However a small part of me wants to swap it for orchid interior as that would be a HOT combo with the Performance Red, funny they offered that combo with the Integra A-Spec but not the TLX lol

Hoping the inventory issues get sorted out this later this year. I'll probably be in the market for one next year.

Was your TL-S silver? I was in that dealer for service on Tuesday and saw a very nice and clean TL-S with a temp plate rolling out of service. Probably getting a pre-sale service, I guess it didn't last long!

I got my RDX A-Spec at that dealer as well, they are good with not adding unnecessary BS to the price and pretty easy to negotiate with.

Yep, that was mine. The salesman actually bought it for his son in college, so it never made it to the lot. He needed something reliable and nice, and seeing as how I kept that car clean and in very good shape, it made sense. He has been sending me updates about the car, which I appreciate it since I had it for so long.

And yeah, I had a terrific experience with them. No BS, straight-forward, easy process. I wish they were closer, so I'll miss out on the free oil changes through them.

Can you transfer those to me LOL! I got a CPO car so only my first service was included.

I had a similar experience, I was trading in a 2012 Subaru Impreza Sport 5MT. They only wanted to give me 2k for it but it was well taken care of and had 190k on it. I didnt want to haggle with people to try and sell for higher so I agreed. I get a call after I leave the dealer with an offer buy it on the side for cash from an employee, instead of trading in and them buying back from the dealer. They padded with a few 100 extra and it was win win! The dealer didnt really want it and it would have gone to auction anyways.

Why would you lose oil changes? Doesn't the MY23 and newer Acuras get 2 year free scheduled maintenance?

Two years from Acura, which I can get anywhere, but the dealership offers an additional 2 years on top of that. I'm not driving an hour and a half for an oil change.

I always said Acura should have made it 3 years for free scheduled maintenance to cover a typical lease period but folks were not kind to my suggestion!

I'll be honest, this is the first time I've ever had any free scheduled maintenance, so I'm happy regardless, lol.

My previous car (Subaru) had free oil changes for life or like 100k, but that was a specific dealer incentive. I live in NJ and bought the car way out in Long Island, so I had the same issue as you.

That's exactly what I was offered in trade when I said goodbye to my much loved '07 Type S 6MT.
It was well maintained, but high mileage. Like you the dash was a mess of cracks, common to them but unrealistically expense to replace. Then there was the GPS no longer capable of knowing what year it was, something that would have been a trivial fix that I would have cheerfully paid for, but Acura wouldn't do.

Funny, my dash was fine until the week prior to me getting the TLX. Parked it at the airport lot for two weeks and came back to the crack. Went home and figured, let’s see if there’s a 2024 Type-S available and bought it later that day, lol.

it also did have a tear in the passenger seat on the bottom. Still, 81k miles, well kept… the dealership got a deal.

It looks like the configurator on the Acura site shows 2025 model now (from type s models page). I do see some Type S models in transit now, perhaps inventory will start improving again.

Sadly Tiger Eye Pearl color is gone.

Watch this from 8:00 Min to 8:37 (this 37 seconds will explain you lower sales volume & no inventory). TLX is not as bad as people portrays it. It's Honda/Acura decision...They are making big moves in the upcoming months!

Yes, because nothing screams success like cutting production of a "profitable" car! The outcry against Acura would've been tremendous if the MDX or RDX had been cut instead of a sedan that wasn't selling!

It’s specifically the TLX/Accord/Integra line that is affected. All 3 models are down in production at the moment.

Welp, looks like the Accord and Integra are both dead now, too. RIP

Yeah, if Acura has to cut production of the more profitable TLX by so much, then the less profitable Accord and Integra production must be almost zero!

Oh wait...

Either Honda is cutting production of a more profitable model because they are full of wholly incompetent idiots, or because the demand has cratered. Sounds like fanboys are denying the latter, which would imply they think it's due to incompetence? Not sure that's really a better look...

Do we know the TLX is more profitable than the Accord and Integra though? FWIW, the Integra is like a reskinned Civic hatchback and I wouldn't be surprised if the profit margin for each is quite nice.
What I see though is that the incentives on these cars (Accord, TLX, Integra) are pretty bad. On Cars.com there are so few new TLX's available as well.

They are shifting production of the Accord to another plant in 2025, so that should free up a bit more room at MAP for Integra and TLX. Until then, I think the sales of the Accord, TLX, and Integra to remain low. They aren't making any of those, and so they won't offer much incentive, and so sales will drop.

Obviously Honda is behind in EV and it looks like they are scrambling to get themselves back as quickly as possible. This is likely why there are compromises with the production lines.
