Track Day! Coming soon....

So headed to Nelson Ledges in a few weeks to mess around with the Type S on the track! It'll be my first foray on a REAL race track, well, outside of Speed Vegas. I autocrossed for years but never actually track raced. So excited about pushing the car a bit.

I do need to:

1. Motul DOT4 brake fluid
2. Upgrade the pads and MAYBE the rotors

Keep you posted!

If your stock rotors aren’t warped they will be after tracking

Actually, just decided to get it over with and order a set of paragon rotors and RB braking street/track pads.

actually, it’s quite the opposite. There’s quite a few race teams use those rotors. I don’t waste money on junk. Lol.

FWIW, one of the best things you can try that's fairly effective is using some 1.5" to 2" flexible ducting/tube and rig up with some Gorilla tape and zipties to provide cooling on the brake caliper. Have the inlet face forward and probably just below the lower front grill lip were pressure is greater, then route along the lower control arms so it doesn't interfere with anything. A friend (former SCCA instructor has done this dozen's of times especially to Miata's Cheap and effective although some tech inspectors may not allow it at certain tracks.

Some people also use brake scoops but from what I've heard they are not as effective as a brake cooling hose.

Oh, believe me, I have all those things deep in my head lol we’ll see what happens next time around. Literally just doing this to have some fun on a track with a car that I’m not really gonna push that hard. Just have some fun with it see what I can do for the most part and then go from there. I appreciate the input.

well, if I’m gonna spend the money to go on the track, I’m going to make sure that it has the most grip possible, lol as much fun as it would be, you never as fast in the rain as you are in the dry!

Update

Track day had to get moved to October 8. It’s still on as of now. 62° and sunny! Going to be a good day for the track.

One of the guys from the forums are meeting me up there so we’ll get some good in car as well as out of car video.
