TLX Wait Time

I have a ‘21 Modern Steel Metallic/Ebony ASPEC on order from a local dealer and was told the build date is set for early November. Anyone see those wait times moved up? It’s not so much I have to have the car now, but I’m worried about driving my trade around and it losing value.

Thanks!

^^^^^

Is the factory still building 2021 models ? If build in November, it is likely a 2022 model.

It’s a 21. The salesman said it was originally supposed to be built in April.

It could be worse - I ordered an M550i a week ago, but because of Individual choices for paint, interior and wood I will be lucky if i get it in January. No hope it'll be a Christmas present.

Finally moving along. The M4C advanced three stations from Entering Production to Exterior Body Assembly Begins yesterday & into In Paint Booth this morning. Paint (individual color thing) like with your car was one of the potential hold points so hope to see it move to the next station all painted soon.

So far looks like this maybe the time lines, you should be where we were on August 24. Might help you see it Christmas may still come on time.

Is BMW building Acura cars now? Cuz I don't see the point of your posts besides to show off.

Not showing off after all doesn't Acura compete with BMW, Genesis, MB, Audi, etc? Should be six of one half a dozen of the other on the cars construction cycle for regular cars. Maybe the Acura PMC Editions take a little longer because they are hand assembled.

One of the posts here mentioned a wait time for a M550. Thought it might be of interest what the process & timing is. Pretty sure its representative of most if not all current auto manufacturing plants. Only difference should be shipping time from the factories, train ride instead of a boat ride.

No problem if you don't care for general build information & the mods can always deleted it if you ask them to. That said the time line for your car is almost identical to mine with only a weeks difference going all the way back to July.

Fly to Bavaria and pick it up there. You will drive it faster.

Going on winter in Europe and Covid restrictions are still in force so the European Delivery Package is not a good plan. Took Performance Center Delivery in South Carolina instead.

Might kick back off once all the Covid problems are put to bed. Savings on the car could cover part of the trip so it was pretty popular. Remember seeing a lot of people running around with the Euro license plates on the front of the car. NC is a one plate state so many people left the front Euro plate on after they got home.

I still have the plate on a stand on my desk. Some folks in back-only plates got vanity plates that matched the numbers on the Euro plate.

My first ‘oh wow’ moment was doing 105 in the right lane, when an SL passed me doing at least 50mph faster. I knew to work on my SA, so I saw him from pretty far off, but there I was, driving faster than I had ever driven before, and got passed like I was standing still.

Like your avatar. We picked up a new puppy on Friday. Last of our Old English Sheep Dogs passed a few months back.

Had pairs of them since 1983. Made a change & got a single Goldendoodle.

Took my TLX for servicing and talked to my salesperson. She said they have no brand new TLXs to sell other than a Type S sitting in the showroom. Tough times if you're waiting for a TLX. The '22 TLX should have been out by now but it isn't.

Worse than I expected. My dealer, a big seller in the country for a few yrs....did not get any allocations for Oct!! I asked him to order me an Apex Blue/red Type S....and he said,
I would if I could. Don't know what Nov. will bring...and he won't know until usually the 2nd Monday in the month. Their lot is basically empty of new cars...'cept for the ones that
were customer pre orders. They, like most dealers, are living off of the "Pre-Owned" market.
That's why many company's are paying more for your pre owned...'cause they are getting more when they sell them.
The new inventory will be worse for them in Nov...since they couldn't order any this month. I know they just lost a long time employee that went on
to a new career in financial planning. Many "lean months" of income and he wanted a change. I'm sure they won't replace him right away, since it's
hard enough for those that have been there for years to make much due to the extreme inventory shortages. MDX's, RDX's as well.

2 mos. delay. Due to parts suppliers. NOT Acura's doing or fault. They want the vehicles...can't get them...Acura can't make them...how can you in this atmosphere we are in with
MOST all products. Can't get enough of what we need. Don't bitch at at the dealers...THEY are bitching at Acura...but, everyone knows...without parts from suppliers that come from
all over the world....you can't build a car.

I am looking to put off my plans until after the winter.

Replacing 2019 RDX is a want, not a need.

I have an RDX, A-Spec/Adv Pkg, that is being built in Nov. Dealer was given a build date. But, in this "atmosphere" that could change.
Dealer has 3 others in different colors on same order. All same model. Going to be popular I'm sure. I had a '19 A-Spec. Wasn't happy
with the ride, but, all else pretty nice. This one should be really cool. Same...want...not a need. Mostly wife wants a smaller SUV. She
is intimidated by the larger new MDX, but, we both really like it a lot. I drive most of the time...LOL! She loved driving the '19 RDX.

Its parts shortage everywhere. Right now the M4 is sitting in Quality Control waiting for the radio to show up. Once the radio is in its down to the dock for boat time with the ports all screwed up. Will be an adventure to see if it makes Christmas.

My pup is 14 and having her issues. Sad when a loving loyal four legged friend passes on. Next to my family, the love between a dog and owner is hard to top. Are you going to get another dog?
Avoid German breeds....over engineered and somewhat unattractive from the front

Yes - it's very similar to losing a family member. This was particularly difficult because we made the decision we didn't want him to suffer so we had him put to sleep. The right thing to do but that doesn't make it any easier.

We still have his sister who is 13 but we've also started to look around for breeders. The good ones have a wait list of over a year (much like the chip shortage seems the pandemic has cause a pup shortage too) so it will likely be next year sometime.

My wife wants us to get out of the RDX as it is too big for her.

For the stuff I like, the TLX looks good inside, and the Advance has nice goodies.

The TLX is much longer and wider than the RDX. The turning radius is also much bigger (even higher than the previous gen MDX).

Has your wife driven the TLX?

If the RDX is too big, the TLX is going to be way too big. It’s only 1 inch shorter than the 3G MDX.

Too Big?

Took the 2 seat Z4 in for oil etc today, got a very big white whale for a loaner. Two things I would never buy a White car & a Whale Car

Has a B58 so it moves along pretty well with only 335bhp. But you can feel every inch (207") & pound (4244lbs). If you just had to have a whale the pick of the litter is the 750 with a V8 & 523BHP. That or the Top Gun M760 V12 @ 601BHP.

As big as it is, that whale is only 23 lbs heavier than a Type-S.
