I've used Apple Maps with Apple CarPlay for years and it's perfect. Free automatic updates with accurate directions.
I remember back in the day when Apple Maps was a joke. It's been great for the past 2 years or so.
May as well do that or use Google Maps if you're on Android. No need for built in navigation maps anymore.
Even if you don't like Apple Maps, you can use Google Maps with Carplay and even the home screen widget will switch to Google properly now. I agree though built in navigation is really losing it's purpose.. there used to be a use case for people with say an RV going off in the middle of nowhere but even the middle of nowhere is pretty saturated these days with signal.
So I’m in the garage and out of the corner of my eye, the overhead lamp is shining right over the spot on the hood where the sap was…. The dealer said they buffed out… this is what they call buffing apparently..
A dealerships detail job is going to produce mediocre results.
Spend the extra money to have a detail shop do a full detail on your car. That includes clay bar and wax.
As soon as I get my Type S it’s going to the detail shop for a full frontal PPF, tints and a detail. I’m not messing around this time.
Who do you go to for that a tint shop? And is it more than just high school kids doing that these days? I pay more attention to detail than the average $15/hr guy…

I go to a shop called Brighton’s in Naperville, Illinois.
They handle a ton of high end vehicles. The Type S is at the low end of their clientele to be honest. Lots of Lamborghini’s, Ferraris and other super cars go there. I had never heard of them but my PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) guy recommended them and I trust him.
I’m surprised this isn’t a bigger topic for new cars. Back in the day I don’t remember even caring about paint or chips, although that wasn’t blue Pearl…

As you said above most people wouldn’t notice these imperfections. We’re a different type of consumer here. The truth is the factory paint jobs aren’t free from flaws anyways. For most people it looks fine though and that’s why it’s the accepted norm.
I made this post out of excitement and people want to dump on it LOL. Also where’s the guys that blast people for not being able to find what they’re looking for through searches?
I don’t need to justify that I own the car, next pic you get is gonna be me with my dick out in the driver seat, or better yet your wife in the passenger seat

Now that is some odd-looking dick. Wife is not impressed. She said it looks like cooked spaghetti noodle.

I can't speak for the CarPlay but for Android Auto, automakers have different setups (i think). For an instant, I can put Google Sat map on my screen through my Auto Android, but then it does not show on my virtual cockpit and of course, it does not show active information as Waze does. Then when I need to use the nav, if using Waze, it only shows the zoom-in map @ 2000foot view, I like to have a 50K foot view (figuratively speaking). Also while on Waze for navigation (not view), my virtual cockpit turns into a big ass compass. For me, when I need direction, I use onboard nav (so it can show on my virtual cockpit as well) and leave Waze on my infotainment screen @ 50K foot view.

Take it to a reputable detail shop that does proper paint corrections, they can fix that easily

This.
Dealerships offer detailing services but truth be told they're not experts at the craft. I could do just as good of a job on an off day which isn't saying much in my case because I'm not very good at this kind of stuff. Hire a detail shop to do it and you'll be happy with the results.
