2021 models and 2022's

Acura is now saying, 2,000 units of the Type S will be built for 2021. The 2022 will come out later this year and more units will
be available. I confirmed this with my dealer. That's exactly what they were told.

They will be getting the Tiger Eye Pearl car for their "demo...can't sell car" later this month. It's for show and tell and to drive,
to see how people are going to want..or not...the Type S. Most dealers are getting the same plan..one car for now to show.

How many dealers are there? 2000 less that number will leave X number of cars for the public this MY.

Yep, the '21's will be few, esp. at dealers that are smaller and in more remote parts of the country. My dealer is getting approx. 14 or so over his
first 2 orders...one order later this month and the 2nd order he makes in June. Just might be all the '21's he'll get. Not sure yet. But, my guess, yes.

Let's see what the '22 numbers will be like. And by then, we'll know how well the buying public is accepting this Type S.

There are 273 Acura dealers in the US.

.
Except for "full model cycle" and "mid model cycle" launches, Honda/Acura typically release "new model year" vehicle models in Sept/Oct time frame.

Therefore, expect the 2022 TLX to come out in Sept/Oct this year. So it will be 2,000 units 2021 TLX Type-S for the next 3-4 months, before 2022 TLX Type-S starts rolling off the factory floor.

Has anyone heard what changes Acura has in store for the 2022 TLX models, if anything? I wonder if there is any chance that they would add wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto or if that is something that they will include with the mid-cycle refresh in 2 years.

At MSRP, they should be able to sell every Type S they make.

From the hype that the Canadian online pre-order of the 120 units of 2021 TLX Type-S, which required a $2,500 deposit, was sold out in just 8 hrs last month, and also that only 240 total units are available for Canada, I was expecting that there would be a multi-page long waiting list for the Type-S in dealerships.

However, when I checked out my local Canadian dealership last week, I was really surprised to find out that there were only 3 customer orders so far, out of a total allocation of 7 2021 TLX-S sedans for the dealership.

But even without the wait list, the dealership is dead firm with the MSRP selling price.

That's a large allocation. Where is your dealer located?

Uhhh...yep, that's pretty much what I said. I talked with them yesterday. Been doing business with my dealer for many yrs. Their initial 2 or 3 units have been delayed. May get the "show and tell"
one late this month...and he MAY get a couple extra. But, when I asked about what's coming in, etc, he said..."there's money down on them"....so, I'll check out the '21's, drive etc, and then wait
until the '22's can be ordered, IF I want one. He said it will be late this year. Maybe past Oct....More like Nov/Dec. We'll see.
