Rear diff fluid flush - early?

Hey all,

I have a little over 5k miles on my 2023 Type S and the code for the rear diff fluid change just popped on this morning. I thought it wasn't due until about 15k miles? At the very least, I would have expected around 7500k.

I guess this is very subjective as there are many different factors, but I swear I didn't replace the fluid in my 2021 RDX until about 9k miles. Either way, it will get done at my upcoming oil change, but it still seems very early.

What mileage did most of you do your first rear diff fluid flush at?

Thanks!

What exactly constitutes "driving hard?" I don't often redline it, but I get on it and get the RPM's up. I certainly don't drive it like a Grandpa (what would be the point of getting the Type S if I did). However, I don't think I "beat" on it that badly, especially what it is designed for.

Just curious...

Get the service done, better too early than too late. Could be time, driving habits, temps, lots of short trips or whatever.

Mine came on in September @16,000km, 10,000 miles. Acura and honda canada have had diff fluid on backorder for months, i just had to drive to the US to buy some because ive been waiting 3 months. I dont know how thats even possible, run out of a fluid they say you need to replace to keep up your warranty and then just be like “oh well, we cant get it”?
