Has anyone updated the navigation map from the Here database to a 2021 TLX? I discovered on the RDX forum there is a 2020.10.09 version available on HERE.
My 2021 Platinum Elite has a 2019 version installed. I tried to download the newer one but it does not accept my VIN. I contacted HERE and the first rep told me to make sure my setting is set to “connect” in the car. That of course did not make any difference and the second rep I dealt with told me after talking with his manager that HERE does not support the 2021 TLX and I would have to talk to the dealer. When I had my snow tires swapped I discussed this with the Service Mgr. and we both had a good laugh about the skill level of the HERE folks. My next step will be to call HERE again and failing that the Acura help folks but it would be helpful if somebody with a 2021 TLX has done this.
I updated mine last week with no issues. Downloading the map to USB took about 2 hours. 35 minutes for the install once I placed the USB in the correct port. This is the site I used to download the map.
Thanks fjpthree. That link shows as invalid for me but the link from Acura.ca takes me to hondanavi which looks identical to the link from Acura.com. I think that for some reason my vin never got loaded to their database. I’ll give them a call next week as they are not available on the weekend. Now if I could just read the street names with my bifocals I would be happy but that’s a problem for another day.
I called HERE and worked for at least 30 minutes with a lady both from in my house and in my car. She was able to see my vin in one of the databases but not in the main database and had no method of loading it for me. She created a case at my suggestion and forwarded it to their tech support for resolution. I’ll wait another week and check back with them. Failing that I will open a case with Acura customer support to keep the game going. Thanks for the follow-up.

Funny you should ask....Initially I plugged it into the one on the left and nothing happened. It was not until I looked at the owners manual that I realized the one on the left only charges. So to answer your question, use the port on the right
Bringing in the car this week, to replace the Infotainment wiring harness, & fix the idiot light/emission controls/gas cap
Will the dealer update the Navigation?
I still do not have mine updated as I am struggling to get the “HERE” folks to load my vin in to their database. I wouldn’t think the dealer would do as it is an owner responsibility. They would not be able to get paid unless they charge you for it. You might try to download it to a USB stick first before you ask them. They might do the update as a goodwill gesture.
Finally I have a new map update. I have been checking every so often to see if my Vin is valid with no luck. A couple of weeks ago I called the Here support people to see if they could help (about the fifth time). They opened a technical support case and assured me they would call me when it gets fixed (nobody called).
Yesterday I checked again and to my surprise it worked. I did the long download to a USB and took a drive this morning to do the update. The update was completed in 50 minutes and all is well.
