It looks like a 25 person pre-order that they're going to do further "beta testing" with to make sure there's no bugs/issues before rolling it out to the larger market.

A 50wHP bump from Stage 1 ain't too shabby. Hopefully we can see people start cracking things open and see the potential of this powertrain with a bigger turbo in the next year or so.

huge bump in that low end torque. wonder what they messed around with exactly.

Probably very aggressive torque management baked in from the factory by Acura.

All the 3 liter turbo engines currently in the market make a bunch of low end torque. If their tranny can't handle it, people will find out quickly. Acura didn't implement a launch control system. Makes one wonder

I'll play devils advocate here and say It's most likely going to be fine as long as you don't go too crazy with the boost. I had a 2018 Accord Touring 2.0T with the Phearable Stage 3 tune which is a significant power difference over stock, and I never one time had an issue with the transmission. This should be the same transmission, except only beefier since it's in the MDX and rated for towing. Also, isn't there basically an unreported by Acura launch mode in Sport +?

Launch mode is typically just a matter of holding the brake pedal and fully depressing the throttle; it can be done in any mode but I believe Sport+ offers faster shifting.

Agreed, I've had the Phearable stage 3 in my A-Spec for nearly a year with out any indication of an issue.

I also dont foresee there being a big issue with a stregnthened version of the 10AT in a reasonbly modded Type S.

Nice! Always good to hear another report saying the same. I think I'll go with the ATLP A Pipe, Catback, PRL Intake Kit and the K Tuner Stage 1 Tune (will most likely run the stage 2 when they release that as well) and call it a day. I don't race everyone on the street, nor do I take the car to the track so I would bank on everything holding together just fine.

I'll likely go with the RV6 DP then focus on upgrading the brakes and tires before calling it quits on the performance mods. Granted, I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for further developments on the R660. (So long as reliability isnt "overly" compromised, I may be convinced to divorce myself from $2500 for a good cause.)

The Type-S 10AT feels overbuilt unlike the regular 10AT - much tighter and responsive. I bet its limit is in the 450-475 range.

I’m surprised to even see the 10AT in the 2.0T Accord and TLXs staying strong in those with bolt-ons pushing north of 400whp/tq.

I don't think it's so much the 10AT as it is the SH-AWD drivetrain that has issues holding up to the torque. Otherwise, it's hard to explain why the Accord doesn't have to pull power at lower gears, whereas the TLX and RDX do.

True, but AWD puts more stress on the transmission as well. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if the weak link was in fact somewhere else in the drivetrain rather than the 10AT.

The FWD Accord's limit seems to be just north of 400wTQ. The SH-AWD RDX starts to slip ~360ish wTQ.

If someone can get 450wHP/450wTQ out of this thing consistently (and not on a generous dyno [KTuner's stock car made ~330wHP stock ... yea, nuh-uh]) without the drivetrain eating itself alive, I'll go out and buy a TLX-S the next day.

You don't think Acura beefed up the SH-AWD system like they did the transmission? Surely Acura knew the tuner crowd would get a hold of this platform and add power/performance. Hell, I'd be happy if it can hold up to 400WHP/400WTQ. With it hooking so well that would be an easy mid 12 second car which is plenty adequate for street usage/daily driving.

I'm not saying they didn't, but to what extent? On the flip side, there's no guarantee they did either. That being said, 360wTQ is a pretty low ceiling, so fingers crossed that they did do something to reinforce things down the entire drivetrain.

I'll be more concerned with trap speed improvement over ET. The big end is where the TLX-S needs more help than anything. Which is why I'm hoping someone swaps out to a larger turbo sooner than later. Hoping P2R does something along these lines.

Yeah, piggyback tunes from a company that doesn't "Specialize" bug me. I had some engine light/every light in the book issues the other day just starting and moving the car around the drive....so pulled the unit.
