After springs, do I really need an alignment?

A shop installed my lowering springs. When I got it back,it seems to track straight, turn nicely, and I'm getting the same MPG as before. I've driven about 400 miles since with the new springs.

I didn't do the installation, and don't understand how to do a wheel alignment. Is it possible that replacing the springs did not mess up the alignment?

It's a good idea to get one, but just wondering if it's possible for the tech to put everything back to spec while doing the springs installation? Or that is something generally not possible? Yes, the camber will be off compare to OEM spec.

Short answer: Yes, get an alignment.

Even a mild drop will affect toe and camber enough to scrub more rubber off the tires than necessary.

It may feel like it drives straight in dry conditions but in the rain or snow it may lead to some unexpected handling characteristics.

I think it's worth the $80 to $100 to get it done for safety and tire longevity.

Do it, what's another 80-100 bucks versus screwed up tires. I always do an alignment after any suspension work.

If you were smart you would negotiate the alignment into the spring install job for a better price than having them done separately.
