TLX Whining Noise at 60-80 mph
Hey Everyone- been following this forum quite a bit, leading up to and following the purchase of my new 2.4 TLX. You guys have great advice!
I just took a longer hwy trip, and noticed an irritating whine once the car reaches 70 mph. Its an intermittent whine, almost like something is spooling/pump. Below 60 mph, I don't hear anything, and I haven't driven above 80 mph. A/C off, Sound mute, occurs in all driving modes. Dealer drove it up to 65, and said they didn't hear anything , but I had them check the body plugs to rule that out as well. Car has about 700 miles on it so far.
Any ideas?! I've uploaded a video- you can notice it from the beginning of the video to about 14 sec where it goes away and comes back, then at 21-22 sec it goes away and comes back. It sounds louder when you are actually in the car. The car is steady at 70 (no accelerating/decelerating).

Wow, it may be my old ears but it all sounded the same to me. Couldn't pick out any unusual stuff at all. Since you're sure you heard something, could it have been just road imperfections or something similar?
I'll bet the dealer will never duplicate it.

I heard exact same noise in the first vehicle that I took home.
The first vehicle was making the never ending noise above 45 mph.
I didn't noticed it because I was didn't test drive in the highway.
I called the dealership about the issue and took it back the next day.
The dealership let me drove another TLX. It made the same noise but not as persistently as the first one. It was much less frequent and not as annoying.
The dealership told me that the noise is inherant in the design of TLX and not a flaw according to Acura headquarter.
Fortunately the owner of the dealership test drove both TLX and let me take the second TLX home even though the first TLX is already registered under my name.
I almost drove 2000 miles now since I bought about a month ago.
I do not hear this noise at all. Maybe I'm not much sensitive to the noise as I was before.

I have this exact same whining noise at highway speeds too.
I noticed it the day I brought the car home 2 months ago....thought it would go away. When other ppl ride in the car they always ask...."whats the whirring noise.....?"
I plan on mentioning it when i go in for my first oil change. Its a shame....I absolutely love the car otherwise.
