I was washing my car today and found the paint has been peeled off at the bumper near the fog light. Very disappointed as the car has 5000 km only.


Did anyone experience this before?

 

Considering it's at the bumper, perhaps a rock chipped it?

I'd take it to the dealer to see if they can do anything about that.

 

Looks more it's from a rock given how jagged and ripped it looks.

 

^^ No. It was peeling off while I was washing the car. It can even peel more at the edges if I continue applying water under pressure.

 

Bring it to the dealer if you are not convinced it was not from a road debris. In my opinion, it is from a road debris and not from a paint defect. I would consider it a paint defect (paint peeling) if it started peeling from a sharp corner or edge of the bumper. But yours being in the middle of a flat surface, I highly doubt it is a paint defect.

 

I took my car to the dealer 2 weeks ago. They took some photos and sent them to Acura Canada. Acura approved the repair at no cost to me. Also the SA told me they have seen this problem in some cars and they are aware of it. There is also a warranty extension for 2014-2016 mdx white.
