When I go to fill up, the nozzle of the fuel gun goes in just fine but when i pull the trigger is keeps clicking off. I pull out the nozzle and try not so far in, then it does it again. If I pull it out anymore gas sprays out and fills up the rubber tub around the filler opening. How can a make a simple task of getting gas in a $45000.00 vehicle work. I have had multiple Fords and Mercury's with capless fueling and NEVER had these issues.

Have you tried another gas station (maybe it is pump related)? Another suggestion would be to try filling at a slightly different angle and see if that makes any difference.

 

Try another pump/gas station.

 

Reduce the flow to a slower setting
