Class Action Suit - TLX i4
For everyone who is as fed up as I am with the TLX i4 transmission problem and lack of satisfactory response from Acura, here is a direct link with details to the class action suit that is now pending in US District Court. There is an e-mail and phone number provided to speak with the consumer protection attorneys assigned to the case.

For the V6 TLX, would there be a class action lawsuit against Acura, or ZF? Or both?
#5
You would name both parties

It looks like they are conflating the 8DCT and 9ZF issues together. But the law suit is only about the 8DCT.
"Complaints filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration state that the alleged problem is that the “transmission is jerky,” that the “vehicle often hesitates,” and that the TLX “does not shift smoothly in 2 and 3 gears.” Drivers have also reported that “it feels like the vehicle is pulsing or shuttering forward” as it comes to a stop. These reports also state that the alleged problem “makes driving risky and difficult” and that “it is just a matter of time” until an accident occurs."

I know we often get the transmissions mixed up in our discussions of problems here on the forum

If you take a look at the 8 speed tranny discussions, all these issues were reported with the 4 cylinder model, most of which have been addressed through ECU updates.

nope, mine does it too. And so did 3 other test ones at my local dealer as they drove with all of them with me so they could demonstrate most of them do this. Acura does need to issue a fix. the weird thing is that sometimes it is worse than others, but it is never right. It did it with my stock tires and wheels that the dealer rebalanced and also my new 20s with Nitto Motivo tires, so they are a high quality tire. I also had them road force balanced on my tire dealers Hunter machine for a perfect balance. It is definitely in the drive train.

and couldn't stir up much response from 4-cyl owners. Probably because very few have this problem.
I'm not saying that some TLX owners don't have a vibration problem, but it appears that the vast majority are V-6 owners. Sometimes we mix up the problems with the two configurations.
In any case, I hope all those with vibration problems, including you, get them resolved.
