Idle rpm
Idle rpm
So I have this thread started last week asking about balance shaft. I think it's not my problem.
I can only feel my vibration during idle. Stop light, parked but not moving..
here's my new observation.. my idle RPM is at lowest 600-650rpm, in my previous cars (mostly honda's) it was at 750-800rpm figures taken with engine fully warmed up.
Could this be why I have this vibration? Anyone by any chance checked their idle RPM?
Thanks

I see. I did check mine tonight on the way to work and it always seemed to stay around 750-800 when at idle.

My I4 TLX has the same issue in the ECON and Normal mode. Never driven in the Sport and the Sport + modes.
During idling, specifically waiting for signals, RPM reduction has been occurred several times (the engine was fully warmed) regardless of air-conditioning. At that time, not all, my TLX started to vibrate. Also my TLX has experienced 500RPM once.
So I drove it to a dealer service and let them find any issue relating with this. But they just compared my TLX's computer with their TLX, even though I showed some photos, which were taken at ~600 RPM conditions. And they concluded that "No error code was detected. No problem."
I think I have to take more photos when the RPM decrease around 500 RPM.

Didn't see this thread till now. I have a similar problem on my 2.4.
- when Fan ON, the car idle ~700rpm. Can feel the car vibrate at stop.
- if you turn OFF the fan, after the car is warmed up, the idle goes down to 600rpm. Vibration gets worst. I can even feel the vibration in the (brake) paddle.
Been in and out the dealearship in the past 2 months. With all new engine/transmission mounts, even a brand new transmission the vibration remains.
Now the dealer is saying this is "normal" after failed to address the problem.
