Omg I hope it’s less than 4years since the date of manufacture of your TLX and you’re currently under 50,000miles. That needs to go to the dealership. Probably a transmission or speed sensor problem. I think there is a TSB for that. Search the TSB log for those symptoms.

go to a shop that has the Honda diagnostic system (HDS) or buy a copy with the double board and cables from ebay and read the codes. Normally a bad wheel speed sensor, low battery or being low on brake fluid can cause these issues. When is the last time you replaced the brake fluid?

I got an oil change at the dealership early this year and they top off the fluids usually. By the way the codes stopped popping up on the dash.

I think you’re on to something about it being something else...how can both actuators go bad at the same
time? I’ll try another dealership maybe and see what they say!

It wasn’t a TSB. I recall these symptoms from several past threads. Check these out. I’d be very curious to see what $4000 fix your dealer had in mind if it’s actually $170 fo a few faulty sensors...

Don’t assume it fixed itself or won’t keep happening again and again.

Thanks for the links! Dealer planned on replacing the rear actuators....$1600 a piece + taxes + install is $4,200. In a few of the comments, folks did mention they had their actuators replaced but luckily for them - they were under warranty. I'll take it to another dealer and see what they say.

When my battery was dying/dead, my car would throw all these errors on the dashboard too. Maybe check the voltage of the battery to see if it's >12.5V at rest.

As crazy as it sounds when my car was experiencing a similar issue it ended up being that I had my Sunpass (toll road device) under the rear view mirror. Once I moved it to the far upper left of the windshield all of the warning messages stopped.

Thanks for the tip! We have a sticker where I live but I’ve had that sticker installed for three years.

Update: Took it to another dealer and he said the issue is rare but they've seen it for 2015 TLX since they were the first model. Also said if the message is not popping up that means the parts are working fine. We will wait until the messages come up more often or all the time since the second dealership said its possible you never see it again.

A couple of years ago, one of the times when my car started throwing up errors and going into limp mode, they said replacing the actuators would fix the problem and added the replacement cost for the actuator was around $2000. Of course, I had another set of errors that happened 6 months later that was supposedly fixed by something else, so I don't know if replacing the actuator fixed the original problem or it was just the same thing happening again because replacing it didn't fix the problem. In any case, yeah... there are some expensive repairs on this car out-of-warranty.

This seems like a bit of an odd response from the dealership. I can tell you this isn't true because both times it happened to me, the error went away after shutting the car down and re-starting. I think one of those times it came back. In both cases the dealership found reason/cause to replace parts. I would take the car to another dealership. I'm only saying this because in some situations, the car goes into limp mode and you don't want that happening to you on a freeway or something. I'd take it to another dealership and see if they can capture an error code. The last time it happened to me, I drove it directly to the dealership in limp mode to get them to fix it. I took videos of it the first time it happened.

BTW, if you take it in, you may want to print these 2 out as a suggestion for what to look for (they should know). Also note neither of these may apply to you, but they should at least do an inspection for them :

http://www.urvi.net/forumfiles/SB/B15-041.PDF
http://www.urvi.net/forumfiles/SB/B15-050.PDF

Note in the first link, it specifically says that the error code they should be looking for may not be present when you bring it in. Like I said, in some situations, the errors go away -- that doesn't mean the problem isn't present.
