Advance/Elite parking sensor bug?

I have noticed on a couple of occasions that the parking sensors don't work. It seems to be intermittent.

Has anyone else seen this occur? I will take mine in to be looked at soon.

The only time I have ever had an issue is when the sensors were covered with lots of road salt or snow/ice. Cleaning them off always fixed the problem.

I don't think you have to deal with much winter weather issues in TX, but maybe heavy dirt is messing them up??

Thanks for the reply. I don't think it is dirt because they work most of the time.

Maybe it's only the front sensors.. I'll check

You can narrow it down to front or back. If you search the owner's manual, you can shut off the rear sensors. It's something like holding in on the parking sensor button, and then turning on the car in accessory mode.

My V6 advance was giving a system error after I picked it up - turned out they forgot to plug in the rear sensors.

The "issue" was from the front sensors. I think it has to do with the distance away the object is before the sensors alert me. I found that if I get close enough, the sensors will give the alert. I am going to play with that setting when I have time.
