8sp DCT
It's been quite a while since we've seen any postings about 8 speed dct issues. Is everyone happy? Resigned? Or now educated about the trans works and its quirks?

Happy here - no complaints

In cold weather (winter) I still get the clunk from reverse to drive on initial startup, micro surges here and there and I find the tranny to be jerky in slow moving traffic. I had both updates done.

RLTW!!
Both updates complete, much better operations, minus the losing it's mind in stop and go traffic..

The transmission is consistent in its inconsistency, even with the updates. It's imperfections are tolerable, but inexcusable. 1st and 2nd gear upshifts are clunky at lower rpms, especially before the car warms ups. Downshifts into 1st gear can occasionally be notchy. On two occasions, the car was 'stuck' in neutral while trying to accelerate from a stop. Varying degrees of vibrations permeate the cabin, especially in the seats, while in gear and at idle RPMS (stopped in traffic). Car jerks into gear when shifting into gear from Park. All these things comes and go, although some are more consistent than others. It really baffles the mind, and leads me to believe much of it is computer-related. I think most people have accepted the transmission for what it is, whether the issues are ecu based or not, and are happy that the problems are not as severe as those reported in the 6 cylinder models.

No complaints here, happy with the 8spd tranny, never had to bring in the TLX for an update
There are very slight and occasional clunky upshifts that are near imperceptible every blue moon. My engine experienced also a more violent (but not crazy) jolt twice in about 10,000 miles... so not a major issue for me

My car jumped forward once in a while when come to a near complete stop =\ Car would be slow to downshift when making sudden stop, so it lagged when trying to accelerate again. Couldn't replicate the problem when I took it to the dealership. They said there are no new updates for my car (car built in 4/16, and bought it in May).

My car does the same thing jumps foward or the feeling someone just rear ended you, happens when coming to a stop. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to be aggravating.

The only thing I can think of is this is only the 2nd time I have filled up my car with non CostCo gas... I filled it up with 76 and the herky-jerkiness has never been more apparent than in the last 2 weeks.
I'm also at 20% on the oil meter, I've changed it once during the car's lifetime.
I have never brought it back to the dealership to get a software update.
Thoughts? Recommendations? How do I know if I have the latest software update?

My car still shifts unpredictably. More noticeably in the cold weather, but when engine is cold it would do it to even when the weather is warm. The defect can be described as random 'jerky' or 'clunky' shifting and significantly degrades my driving experience. However, sometimes it is much more serious. Last spring on two occasions it took too long (several seconds) to shift in a higher gear, when I started moving from a stop sign. Miraculously avoided collision with the car moving from the right - which did not have a stop sign.

My wife has a 2014 Accord and the CVT in that car is light years better in terms of responsiveness. It's really sad that I would rather have a CVT over a DCT.
Or better yet just put a 6 speed MT in the car and call it a day.
