8 SP DCT making clicking sound during moderate acceleration
8 SP DCT making clicking sound during moderate acceleration
So I have a 2015 TLX 2.4L with the 8 speed dual clutch transmission and 42k mile on it. I have been noticing that my transmission would make a loud clicking/popping sound during normal/moderate acceleration from a deadstop since prior to it's 30k miles service.
I hear this every morning while driving through my neighborhood which has many stop signs and speed limit of 35 mph. I also hear it when acceleration moderately from a stop light in traffic during my morning or even commute.
1st time I brought the car in, the tech couldn't reproduce it and said to bring it back when it gets worse more reproducible.
Next time I brought it in, the Acura Tech said my transmission fluid was dirty and recommend a Transmission flush. Which he performed and said the issues is "fixed". However, I still hear it.
Any ideas as to why the Dual Clutch would make a loud clicking/popping sound when shifting from a deadstop? Is this "normal" DCT behaviour?

Update.
So the Dealer had my car for several days and could not reproduce the issue. So this morning I stopped by and test drove it with a technician. Sure enough he heard the "popping" sound multiple times. The technician stated that personally if it was his car, he would not worry about it that its not a big deal to him. Really? Now if the car did this from the day I bought it, sure okay a characteristic of the car. But I have had this car for over 3 years and and it just recently started making a popping sound. So no this is not normal and is a big deal to me.. Anyways, I have asked them to find out what is making the popping sound and fix it. Praying that it gets fixed.
Last time when my Bluetooth was not working it took a year of bringing the car in until an Acura technician took the time to troubleshoot and find out the my Modulator was bad. I appreciated him take the time to troubleshoot, call me, and explain everything to me. Bluetooth has been trouble free ever since. I am hoping that this Acura Tech also takes the time to do the troubleshooting to resolve this issue.

So after tightening the front suspension the car still makes that sound. Frustrated. I started to video record the issue. So it seems to make a sound when the car shifts at 20 mph during 0 to 20 mph acceleration.
Since I had to bring the car back for another issue (car went into limp mode) they will try to fix this issue too.

does it pop/click when you press the gas under low speed and can't hear at any speed over 45? Mine did that, dealership pretty much did the same as your, said the front struts are not torque properly. Until 3-4 more visits, they finally agreed to replace the tranny mount. That was the fixed for mine. If I remembered correctly, it happened around that same mileage as well.

The started happening around time the transaxle mount was "fixed". I say fixed because I didn't get a new replacement mount. They just replaced the rubber bushing. Prior to this fix the car rattled and vibrated when in idle and in gear.
Well they can't isolate where the sound is coming from. Suspension is good. Transaxle mount is good. Only other thing would be the transmission itself. So they basically told be to come back when it gets worse. Awesome.
And just my luck the transmission pops when accelerating from 0 to 20 mph right after picking it up. Grrrrrr.
