New user with fresh pics!

Hello everyone! Die hard Honda/Acura fan here finally joining the discussion. This is my first post on Acurazine so I thought why not share some great photos of a white TLX fitted with some Vossen VFS2 rims! This build was done by Acura of Pembroke Pines to help promote the TLX. Overall I think the lowered suspension paired with the body kit helps make the car look much more planted and aggressive, what do you guys think? I'm sure Weather is going to like this!

Aren't the rims supposed to have rubber on the outer circumference?

I had Graphite Vossens on my GS.. the rim lip extends out from the tire a little.. makes them very susceptible to curb rash,, sigh

I really like the style of the wheel but the ulta low profile tire is not really my liking and I'm sure it impacts the ride quality. But they smallest they make this wheel is 20".

I'm not sure he is saying this is going to be his car. He is just posting the pics.

Looking gorgeous.

A car that gorgeous needs something better than Vossens though. Seriously.
Work, Volk, Modular, Weds, Advan, anything forged or multipiece... srsly.

I'd like it if not lowered so much. That trend should have run it's course by now.

I am with you but, it seems the trend continues. And to think in the good ole days, jacking up the rear was the thing.. had to clear those N50 x 15's! At least we we didn't scrape going over speed bumps

Did you by any chance double check with the guy orchestrating this build before posting these pictures?

I've alway wondered how this car could be lowered with P-AWS. It looks great IMO.

and for those wondering, here is the original and official thread by Chan_Mike.

I know your heart is in the right place, but you probably should have run it by him that you would be saving and re-posting his pictures. The official shoot pictures haven't been released yet...

Really dogging on lowered cars while reminiscing about pointlessly lifting the rear to what? Look like a rwd muscle car?! Omg I wasn't ready to laugh this hard this early.

I can promise this whole lowered car thing has been around since before you could drive and I guarantee it'll be here until after you've given up your license.

Does your car even rake homes?

No really though, yankee style modding copied from the super sil cars. As well all the yakuza mob type cars. It got popular in the late 80s but the roots go back to like the 70s from the super sil and group 5 race cars. #becauseracecar

Edit: Damn it I cant see the pics at work.
I was going to add to each their own. I like a lowered car more than I like a fast car. That is just me. I dont want to be unsafe, but it just looks clean. I think this TLX is pretty tastefully done. Its not too low and it wont be damaging fenders or ruining tires. I think it was a good job... minus the wheel selection. Look great, but Id be afraid of pot holes in those.

What dogging did I do? Saying I don't like something is not dogging it. Speaking the truth about scraping on speed bumps is TRUTH, not dogging.

I didn't like the low riders of old (sparks and all) either..

How was he supposed to know and most of the time, members would praise him for posting the pics. While I like the build thread, clearly the car is out and about so he did nothing wrong.

Welcome to the forum man and thanks for the pics!

A user called it just a trend. I call that dogging. Telling someone something they like is just a phase that will run its course can be insulting.
You agreed with him, hence the dogging.

To each their own.

I think rake looks far worse than being even and low.

I like reverse rake, aka saggy a$$.

Lowered is a lifestyle...I realize that no matter how old I get, it will always impress me how you can make the most mundane vehicle look cool by lowering it. I bet I'd lower everything but a truck for the rest of my life. The older I get I may not lower it AS MUCH, but I'll always lower.

I will be the same. Even trucks I like lowered. I guess since this thread is already hijacked...

Some cars look great with a little lowering,, indeed. Hey, I am an old fart.. it's a generational thing.. mostly

I have to laugh at some of the cars going down the freeway just bouncing over every little bump.. no shocks or something and seeing sparks when they hit the dips.

You don't have to like it. I'm just informing you it is much more than a trend that will ride it's bumpy low ass course. It will stick around, I promise you this.

We usually had to "jack up" the rear to clear the tires. Very few cars had round wheelwells.. what sucked is when the airshocks blew out and the car fell down on the tires.
And NO, I was never talking about doing that to a Honda.. only mentioned the old days.

that sounds horrific...
also makes me understand why you'd think it's dumb for the new generation to run a 12" wide wheel so close to the fenders.

I had '72 Challenger with big ass tires on the rear and blew an air shock while going down a freeway... it was horrific

Ahhh. Well there is our misunderstanding.
We are talking about a TLX here so I think most of us figured you were talking about raising the rear of that TLX to look like what you did back in the day.

Different cars call for different stance. A muscle car ids at home with rake. You need it sometimes. With a FWD car it's not a big deal man.

P.S. Still waiting for you to show me where I dogged on muscle cars.

hahaha I just dont want him to think I dont like muscle cars. I like all cars with many different styles. I can dig a muscle car lowered or raked. I personally would lower ANYTHING.

I slammed my toys too!
