TLX 2015 Navigation

This is my third ACURA and it is the worse nav system. The 2012 nav was very good. This one is full of errors, wrong directions, turns where there are no turns, etc. I understand that an update is coming. Does anyone have information on when this update will be available.

You're not the first one to think this is a terrible system. A lot of us are waiting for an update. But realistically an update wont do much, our TLX has a pretty crappy processor. You can probably tell how slow it is to respond some times. The TLX needs a hardware update not so much a software update.

Maybe my expectations are just low, but I haven't seen these issues. It could also be a factor of where you live and the quality of the nav data available for your area. I have not noticed any performance issues either. It performs in similar fashion to rental cars I've used and Garmin GPS's I own.

I had a 2007 Lexus with built in nav and the TLX is a better system than that one, although it was 9 years old. The TLX has voice commands that I can actually use, and in my shopping before purchase, they're better than many of the competing vehicles.

I can hit the voice command button and say "address" and say an entire address "123 Main Street Smithville, Texas" and it will set the route and destination. With my Lexus and other competitors' vehicles, you have to step through state, then city, then street, then bldg number.

The routing seems to work pretty well in the areas in the SE US where I've used it. No wrong turns or erroneous turns. As with every navigation system or GPS, sometimes priorities are given that make the route different than what I would pick, and often that can be adjusted in the settings.
