Cool Remote Start

Anyone know what's involved with installing the factory remote start? I can buy the remotes from Acura for a little over $300 without installation. Installed they want a little under $600. Is it just plug and play?

Thanks!

It is plug and play from the module perspective, but the dealer has to program. Keep in mind also that having it installed at the dealer allows the accessory to carry the same factory warranty as the car (e.g. 50k miles/4 years). Installing it yourself only gets you a year/12k on the part (and any failure would probably be blamed on your installation, for better or worse)

Any feedback on how the factory/dealer system performs versus aftermarket systems? People say the range is greater on aftermarket systems?

I would certainly never get an aftermarket system if I had the choice. At the very least it would mean having to carry around two remotes, which I cannot stand!
