I just logged into Acura Owners Site | Exclusive Knowledge, Service, & Benefits for the first time in a few weeks and noticed that there is an update for the Audio/Nav/HandsFree for most of the cars that have been delivered. You'll see the notice in the "Managing your car" section in the lower right.
Audio, navigation and/or hands-free phone system software updates are available for the following vehicles:
2015 TLX
Vehicles with the Acura Navigation System;
Purchased or leased before November 1, 2014; and
4 cylinder (L4) models with the VIN ending in 000001 through 006684; or
V6 2WD models with VIN ending in 00001 through 008867; or
V6 AWD models with VIN ending in 000001 through 001413
Please contact any authorized Acura dealer to determine if your vehicle is eligible for an update and to schedule a software update appointment. The update process may take approximately two hours and will be performed free of charge through November 1, 2015.
If you have questions about software updates or need assistance with locating an Acura dealer, you may contact Acura Client Relations at (800) 382-2238 or use the dealer locator to find your dealer.
Oh, and there's an update for the MDX too (not surprising since it seems like the same system).
Thanks once again to EE4Life for the link to the actual TSB:
I was hoping to see the words Apple CarPlay in this thread. Still, all that stuff sounds nice. It always seemed dumb to me that I couldn't see artist or song I formation unless I set the main display to music mode instead of navigation. There's obviously plenty of unused screen real estate in the lower screen. It sounds like they realized this.
My suspicion is that they don't have the voice input for French so they are not letting us have it in English only in Canada.
This could be correct reason, plus it would make all Navigation Manual incorrect. I am still hoping to hear about a configuration switch change that will fix this. I wonder if the same restriction exists on other Honda/Acura products in Canada.
While I see there are multiple navigation fixes, there are other audio and phone fixes that apply to base models...but this update only says cars with Navi. When I log into the Owners site I have the update button and my VIN is in the range...but I don't have navi. I hope they consider the base folks too...
I'm supposedly getting my update.... having multiple nav issues but they didn't have the right technician there today, so I have an MDX for the weekend. I miss the TLX
That's great news regarding the NAVI and Phone addresses availability while driving - a victory over the lawyers. Realising that in reality what people will do if they can't access their address book for instance while driving is that they will get their phone out of their pocket/bag and rummage around on the screen. Which is far more dangerous.

Oh my! I never thought of that.... but if that is the case, isn't that terrible? Just so that if one does not get it, then NEITHER could get it!? Oh no....
Anyway, I see that that there are 2 owners' manuals available for the navigation system. I guess that one was the original while the other is the later, more up-to-date version?
I see that my VIN number indicated that it's beyond that range and so no update is necessary.... but I still wanted some updates such as the local map... LOL I live in a newer neighbourhood that is several years old but they still do not have it in their map. It is quite annoying...

Where did you check your VIN? I didn't see the actual vin number range, just the warning not to update vehicles outside the vin range... I must have missed it somewhere. Never mind... I saw the range... Brain fart...

Just picked my TLX up from getting the update installed.... so far so good. They also had to install a whole new Navi unit and antenna too.... so far things are a bit snappier. It's still at about 65% for the background update.

Wow! Actual new hardware? I thought it was just a software update. Cool.
So after picking up my car whose vin falls outside the noted range, I checked the system info and it looks like I have an older version... 2.something (I will have to check again later) but definately not the 3.0 that the screen shot indicates in the pdf of the tsb.

Ours is outside the range, too, but has all the updates I checked on the other helpful post from Colin. All the presets, etc., look like the graphic but I can't compare it in a before/after like other owners might. Ours has the cross traffic beep, as well.

Update on my above post: I checked the System info, and we have v. 3.02 as listed in the TSB, so either the factory or dealer updated it prior to delivery on Nov. 1. It arrived at the dealer Oct 30 and appeared on their inventory on the Acura website Oct 16. My suspicion is that the dealer did the update, as they should.
I had the dealer install the update while my car was in for service last week. They have given me the car back but said it will take up to 6 hours of driving time for the download/installation to complete. There is an indicator on the upper left of the navigation screen which is now at 54% complete. Interestingly, the anticipated changes that were outlined in the Acura brochure some have posted took effect immediately. With this being said, does anyone know what to expect when the download completes? I'm wondering if it is a map update or something.

I supposedly had mine updated.... it shows the new version and I also had the 54% download etc.... however I'm noticing a lot of the supposedly new features are missing... for instance the ability to change the order of the sources... and the random/repeat on the main screen. I'm going to call them to see what's going on.
Do you think its possible to install the update ourselves through the dealer screens? The same screen you would access to turn off the ANC?
You would need the actual software that comes on a CD from Acura. I believe it is downloaded to the HDD hidden partition and runs from there. I have heard it takes six hours to install fully and you can have it install in the background while driving around town. Of course, you don't need to take a six hour drive.

According to Acura publication it takes about 90 minutes to install at dealer. Installing in background while diving takes about same amount of time. Mine left dealer at 23% and now at 71% with proportionate amount of driving time.
You should receive from dealer at time of update, a new condensed paper manual and revised CD with changes made. You will not get a copy of the master programming CD because dealer uses it to download content to all the cars including your HDD and your system takes it from there.

I figured I will wait for my first oil change and get the update then. I heard that the current CD does not fix the beeps on all models for Cross Traffic Monitoring. Maybe service pack 2 will be out by the time I need to change my oil.
Yay! With the new ODMD software update- you can now direct "dial" a phone number on the touch screen WHILE the car is moving... In addition to the other unlocked screens recently now available while moving (phonebook, destination category searches)- we are getting closer to what I used to have with my 2008 TL where nothing was locked out AND touchscreen interface!

There are a new Handbook and Navigation manual available online, but it seems my Canadian model does not exist as the VIN falls in the nowhere land (>18 and <547)
2015 TLX Owner’s Manual – last 6 digits of your VIN (V6: 800018 and earlier)

I had Acura finance call me the other day when I was driving. The machine wanted me to press one to confirm I was the person they wanted to call. But the keypad is locked out when you are driving. So I could not answer the call.... I told them to fix the issue...I was trying to get my phone out of my pocket...not exactly safe....then I'd have to open the keypad on my phone while driving...not exactly safe...anyway they rang off before I could extracate it. Hopefully a software update will fix this nonsense.
