Cannot "Deactivate" CarPlay

I use an Android phone and recently let my visiting sister drive my 2019 TLX Aspec using her Apple CarPlay. Thereafter, upon returning to using Android via Bluetooth, I discovered that upon trying to press the call button on the steering wheel, the prompt on the dashboard said "Apple CarPlay Active, Use Phone App."

Simply put, I cannot use the phone button on the steering wheel to make a call. Somehow Apple CarPlay is active, even though the CarPlay gas now been disabled and deleted, and the iPhone is not connected to the car. The only way to make a phone call with the android phone is to use the Android Auto Phone button. I deleted the iPhone, disabled Apple CarPlay, etc. and nothing has worked so far.

Can anyone please help?

Cannot "Deactivate" CarPlay

This is an Acura SW issue. If you unplug your Iphone (Androids are OK), without properly exiting the app in your iphone, your Acura thinks you are still connected to Apple Car App. Plug any iphone, run Apple Car, exit properly and it works. I do not know how to create a ticket with Acura to have this fixed though.

Sorry, how do you exit properly?

Isn't there a "return to car functions" (or something in the same meaning) button in Android auto/Apple Car ?

I am SO glad to have found this thread. Thank goodness someone has figured this out for me - that was going to be my next thing to try, but I haven't had a chance yet and wanted to search the internet first. No luck from Google so I decided to try logging back in to my old account here to see what I could find. I bought my 2019 TLX 2 weeks ago and tried out CarPlay, didn't like how it required me to take my eyes off the road and one hand off the wheel to make a call, so decided to disconnect it...and have been struggling with it ever since. I only use the music, phone, and maps in the car (don't have any desire to text or do anything else in the car), and even though I prefer Google Maps to the Acura's nav system, the proportion of time I use the phone and music vs. the maps is large enough for me to prefer to NOT use CarPlay. I was so disappointed that CarPlay didn't have the option to use the steering wheel buttons and the instrument panel to call, vs. just connecting the phone with Bluetooth. I'll try this as soon as I get off work this afternoon!!
