3g CDMA network imminent shutdown

Kudos to Ethlar!!
Instead of bitching and whining about the issue he went out and tackled it head-on. If we're smart we all can learn from his initiative.
You other folks who are impacted by the laydown of 3G might consider quickly following his lead BEFORE the newer modules become scarce and/or potential sellers figure out the true value of their "surplus" modules.
Well done, Sir!

instead of asking the parts department, give them the part #.
that way, they can't "not know" what you're talking about.
the conversation should go something like this:
"hi, just wondering if you have this part # in stock."
you can try either of these part#'s
however; it's going to be expensive.
$800-1200
I would do exactly what Ethlar did...check ebay or check junk yards
used units will be just as good.
that way, they can't "not know" what you're talking about.

I think those are the Hands free units

Replaced myTelematics Bluetooth HFT device. I was able to locate a blue labeled LTE HFT and swapped it out. Map data pulls up almost instantaneously now with the new device. Green light shows. My AcuraLink subscription shows up in info settings.
However, my vehicle does not refresh on the AcuraLink app, nor does the emergency assist button overhead recognize my AcuraLink subscription. Anyone run into this issue?

AcuraLink connectivity after installing new telematics unit
Update: Contacting AcuraLink Client Services or In Car Technologies doesn’t work. Multiple reps said they couldn’t update the serial to associate to my AcuraLink account and that the dealer would need to handle. The service department at my dealer isn’t sure either and is researching. Reflashing HFL in diagnostics mode fails.
The installation went smoothly, but the AcuraLink connectivity had a few hiccups. On 1-18-23, I phoned AcuraLink to restart my subscription. They renewed it and my AcuraLink mobile app showed a new expiration date of 1-18-2025. However, no remote commands would work, and no vehicle data (odometer, tire pressure, etc.) would populate on my mobile. Pushing the Remote Assist button returned a message of, "You need to sign-up for the service". The AcuraLink status in my car showed the subscription lapsing on 7-1-2022. I asked dealer if AcuraLink needed the new unit number, which the dealer admitted they did not record from the new device. I went back to the dealership and they re-opened my car to get the TCU IMSI number. Between the dealership and AcuraLink Customer Service, no one seemed to know how my VIN number became associated with the new TCU number. Service manager then opened a case with Acura Corporate. We began going in circles, then I asked to talk to AcuraLink Tech Support. They had the answer - have your Service Manager call AcuraLink Customer Service, ask for Tech Support, then ask for a supervisor. Give supervisor the VIN number and new IMSI number and the supervisor will change it in the database. Even though I had the TCU IMSI number, I was not authorized to request a database update.
I am happy to report that as of 2-2-2023, everything is now working. AcuraLink even added a month to my subscription. I discovered later that this was the first TCU upgrade that my dealership had done. I was the guinea pig.

Thanks for the information from (ethlar) and the (Chadwick) it was a easy fix just find the telematic ending in 53 or 530 blue label on eBay or you can find it for about 800$ online the dealer price is worse I was told about 1400$ and up plus installation over 2000$ I removed the glove box and took about 15 minutes to install and called Acuralink and was back in business

Hi. I had the new telematics unit (TCU) installed on 1-17-23. I had ordered the unit in May 2022 and it was back-ordered forever.

The dealer charged $1216.32 ($1339.17 with tax) for the telematics unit (TCU). The installation of the unit was $191.50 (before tax). My dealer said they would only install a TCU purchased from Acura.
Also, not sure how people are getting AcuraLink to reconnect to a replaced TCU. I spoke with AcuraLink tech support multiple times, and they said they needed an Acura Service Manager to make that request.
