2015 TLX Back to touch screen nav?
2015 TLX Back to touch screen nav?
After the 2008 model year Acura kept making mistake after mistake with the body style and going away from a touch screen navigation. I can't seem to find any pics of the interior of the new TLX.
Given that phones and tablets are touch screen and now notebooks incorporate touch...hopefully Acura will go back to touch nav...which was ahead of it's time back when the 3rd gen TL came out in 2004. I still have my 2004 TL and I have yet to see a NAV that's better than mine
(serious bias)
Anyone have any info on the NAV for the 2015 TLX?

It is going to be the same setup like the RLX with two screens. If they go any other way, their accountants probably left the room when the decision was made
Seriously, its not the touch screen that worries me, but the speed of the processor. If recent RLX complains about the infotainment not being too responsive to user input get transferred over to the TLX, then we have a problem.
PS. Its funny tho. There are about a gazillion threads on the 5th generation here and we haven't seen even one coming out of the factory yet. LOL.

voice command.
there are no officially released pics of the interior. be patient they will most likely come when the production model debuts at NY (theory).
more than likely the interior will be similar to that of the RLX/MDX dual screen interface with no touch screen nav but touch screen infotainment.

After loosing the touch screen in the 4G I kept forgetting my Infinit had one, and my Audi does not have touch screen, but has various ways to input info, from voice, to the MMI control know to the touch pad that recognizes your hand writing so to me it is not about the touch screen, it is about the ways they give you to interact. I also am concerned about processing power. My Audi has adequate processing power until it comes to the navigation, it takes a while to parse out the natural language input and then the 3G online connection is slow on top of that so it can take a minute from time you say and address and the details show up.
I hope they are going to offer something that will work with Android devices as well. Latching your cart to the Apple horse may be a good way to alienate buyers who do not want to use an Apple device or do not want to have to update their existing Apple devices just to get the feature.
